but when my friends get engaged i like to get them a little something like a planner, a planning book or a pic frame but i usually cant wait until the e party to give it to them!

check out 'chicken soup for the bride's soul' i read the whole thing before i gave it as a gift and it made me CRY!

I would give money. As for how much, it really depends on what you can afford. I would probably give $100 pp unless I was extremely close to the person then maybe $150-$200 pp

I usually give a gift that is a litte sentimental or off a registry. I don't like to give cash for engagment parties

wow!! That is a lot for an e-party!! We didnt get anything close to that and we had it at a nice place!! Most people gave us around $50 (from a couple), or something from our registry...
