so while i was showering this am, i realized that my shower could use a serious scrub down. problem is, I never know which cleaning products to use!
what do you use to clean floors, glass, soap scum, mildew, appliances etc?

Re: what do you use?
My tub is old and seriously has no hope but what I've found worked best is wetting the tub and then sprinkling it with comet, scrub the crap out of it, rinse, and then apply a scrubbing bubbles type cleaner, leave that on and then rinse again. For my floors I vacuum and then use the swiffer wet jet (I highly recommend the swiffer!!). For the sink and toilet I spray it with clorox anywhere and then wipe it down with paper towels, well except for the inside of the bowl, I use a regular toilet cleaner and a scrub brush

For mildew - bleach. I use Clorox for my bathroom and for soap scum in the shower ZEP. My mom introduced me to it you spray it on, leave it for a min and wash it off!! Stuff is great!

Re: what do you use?
I use ajax once a week with a brillo-like sponge and in between we use a shower spray- you spray it after you get out of the shower and it helps keep it cleaner in between cleanings- I dont remember the name of it but it says like after shower or something on the bottle.

Re: what do you use?
My favorite is clorox clean up - the bleach smell can be overwhelming though. After that for quick cleans the kaboom spray cleaner is great. FMIL bought the scrubbing bubbles sprayer for us and we use that everyday. It REALLY works !!!

Re: what do you use?
I use the ajax powder with bleach the scrub it. It definitely leaves the tub as clean as if it was new. I do this weekly so the process is not as painful.

Re: what do you use?
I use scrubbing bubbles - I think the one in the can is better for some reason than the one in the bottle - and we also spray the shower whenever we remember with a bleach / water spray. works like a shower cleaner but cheaper and better!

Re: what do you use?
For the tub - i've gotta say - i've gone back to what mama always used growing up. good ol green cheap comet! i find it works a lot better then the spray ons. yes, elbow grease is required sometimes as you have to get down and scrub it...but it works. I have been meaning to get one of those 'in between' shower sprays to help the cause also. never lived with boys before - ugggg! they're dirty! :)
other stuff - i comet the sink and then swifter the floor. once a month i do a good old hands and knees scrub of the floor.
here's my thing with swifter - i THINK our apartment has lenolium in the kitchen - after a year of swiftering i was like 'there is no way this is the color of our floor' well. i got out a bottle of 409 spray and sprayed it right on the floor planning to see if it picked anything up...well - sure enough! it was like i hadn't washed the floor for a year!!! ICK so - i'm not sure how i'm cleaning my floors moving forward....also - any recommendations for hardwood? I've been using swifter but now i'm scared is it really cleaning?

I either use murphy's oil soap and water (you only need a little of the murphys) and a regular old mop (the stringy kind) or a shark steamer thing I bought. It's a mop that you push back and forth which creates steam and cleans the floor, no chemicals needed. Next time I use it, I think I will put a little something on the pad - it cleans well, but I think I could get it cleaner.

Re: what do you use?
My mom does the cleaning around house, but when I decide to help out I use ajax powder and bleach, they work really well especially on tough spots like the shower
