what do you use?

for makeup? i was just wondering for everyday makeup. i know some people swear by the more expensive brands...any opinions on if they really are better?? let me know. what do you use and have you compared with less expensive drug store brands...thanks ( :

I've always used expensive brands- MAC for foundation (when I wear it), eyeliner, eyeshadow, lip liner, lip stick and mascars, Elizabeth Arden for blush and face wash and care. But, recently I have started to switch to loriel mascara b/c I found it stays on longer. I'm starting to wonder myself!!!!

i know...most of the makeups are made the same way anyway. maybe its all about the 'tools' you use to put it on...hmmm....

I like going to the Dept. store for foundation & concealer for better color matching. Otherwise, I don't notice a difference.

shamma...ive been thinking of going to mac.....im such a vrigin to 'real' makeup. do you think it really is better? and why? does it last longer? feel nicer? look better? thanks!

I'm strictly a drugstore makeup kinda gal....mostly CoverGirl, Maybelline, Loreal, Revlon, etc., although I use the cheapy $0.99 eye liner and can't tell the difference. I just can't afford to spend the extra money on department store or high end makeup. Everyone I've had this conversation with has thought that I used more expensive makeup. I think that some products may very well be better with the more expensive brands, but I don't know that more expensive necessarily means better for the most part.

thanks jannshari! i think that may be the thing. i think a lot if them are similar. (shadows and blushes)...ok, now who can recommend a great foundation that stays on and doesnt get caky or too shiny?

Revlon or Cover Girl eyeliner

Mac foundation, powder, lipliner,lipstock, gloss etc

Maybeliine Great lash Masacara forever edited to say i only wear foundation in the winter for some color

I think certain things you can get drugstore, I prefer mac, I like their colors and lasting ability. I could be biased tho' I used to use prescriptive, fashion fair, clinique and now I am in my mac mode.

see, i have to wear foundation in winter too..i have kind of uneven skin. and i def need makeups that last like you said shamma. does mac have different foundations? and what do you suggest? i guess theyll help me once im there anyway!

I'm currently using Cover Girl Clean Makeup (oil control) foundation. I have to use the lightest color out there and I wear foundation every day, and I just started using this (always used CG though). It's a little thicker than I'm used to, but it doesn't go on thick...a little goes a long way and I get really even coverage since I use a sponge to apply it.

I think it depends on your skin type. My mom can wear Este Lauder but not Clinque, I can wear Clinque.

i use mac and bobbi brown for special occasions. i really dont wear makeup that often anymore. just the occasional lip gloss!

My daily make-up routine consists of Chapstick But if I do wear something, I wear Clinique. It's the only one I have found to look ok on my terribly dry skin.
