I do think that some of the more $$$ makeups last longer and work better. But, some of the cheaper things I swear by (maybelline great lash mascara can't be beat, really). I also like Body Shop and Burt's Bees products (Burt's Bees tinted moisturizer is the best I've found).
I'm more concerned about the quality of face care products. All the makeup in the world won't make you look as good as healthy skin. I usually use Cetaphil on my face, recommended by every dermatologist I've talked to, and I use Bliss Spa products and prespcriptions for facial products.

I use MAC also for powder and shadow. I need help with colors, and I see a difference in quality and wearability. For liners I'll use anything, for mascara I swear by L'oreal.

I recently switched from MAC to Lorac. It is for sensitive skin and I LOVE it!!!

I also think they give them to her for her birthday. Sometimes she gets a $100 gift certificate and so she buys things for herself, cologne for FH and his dad and his brother, makeup for her daughter-in-law and most recently ME!!!

My SIL is a chemist that works for a company that engineers all the make-up for the pricey dept. store brands like Trish McEvoy, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier etc....and she told me they use the same stuff in their products as drug store brands....
She said you are better off buying stuff from a CVS if you like it....and if the color works....
All those high price brands just market alot better...that's all!
(I still use the $$ stuff though...lol! I guess I am a retail 'SuCkER')

I like Clinique since my skin is so sensitive...but because of money...I tried Neutrogena (can't spell..) foundation...the skin clearing one...I like it a lot and it's on sale every once in awhile at CVS! I use the .99 eyeliner or what samples I get....other than that...I don't wear makeup except for a special occasion

Christian Dior foundation (only because I'm tanned and its hard to find a foundation that looks like my nautral color). Max Factor mascara. Artistry (Amway) eyeliner. Lipliner=99 cent eyeliner.
