I've only heard the one about if it smells like rotten eggs then something might be wrong with the a/c system.
But maple syrup? No, sorry. Maybe there's sap from a nearby tree on it or got in it??

If it smells like rotten eggs it's usually the catalytic converter. Maple Syrup? never heard of that one, but I'm sure if you bring it to the mechanic and say that it smells like maple syrup you'll get taken for a real ride

funny - my car smells like maple syrup sometimes too - sometimes I don't even have the heat or AC on at the time...

SMELL: sweet like maple syrup The fluid is probably engine coolant.
WHAT TO DO: You should schedule an appointment with you mechanic at once to keep this from turning into a serious problem.
