What exactly is venue service fee?

Hi so I went to see a few venues and some charge a 20% service fee and others don't.

IS the service fee another word for tips? Or do I need additional money on the day of the wedding for tips for the venue workers?

20 percent is kind of steep so I am hoping it covers the tips.

I think its BS . it changes the entire price and then u have to pay tax on top of that
Some venue says its for maintenance , some says its tips for everyone (cooks, waiters)
I think its just another way to get more $$ out of you. When i was looking I realized the places that have cheaper pp plates have a service fee. it just makes their $85pp plate seem more appealing but in the end ur still paying over $100

Exactly! ! It's sort of misleading. I wouldn't mind if it covered tips for staff. I know how hard they work.

But like u said, I think it's just a way to inflate prices.
