i grew up in a section of queens that was very italian back then so GULP LOL i was a guidette with big hair and a tacchini suit. lol i was dating someone with a transam lol so i tried to fit the part. but then i saw my first gothic girl on the b58 bus and it was all over went home and burned all my ghot pink lol an dtraded it in for black velvet lol. This all was happening in the years of 1985 lol im will be 32

Fist off let me say I am 28. In middle school I was all into the maddona look and florecent colores clothes. Then in High school I was a heavy metal chick w/ the tight jeans and big hair and mortorcycle leather jacket. In college ....went to a goth club and was all about fishnets and leather chokers. Then from there I went to a rave and became a huge rave chick, pacifiers and candy braclets glow sticks the whole 9. LOL funny topic!

Had to be the Big slouchie scrunchie socks...
always two pairs...one black and one white set, of course reverse the color scheme on the other side!

I am a reformed guidette. I am surprised my hair didn't fall out or go on fire back then. I remember hearing the crackling of my hair when i sprayed the hairspray. OUCH I should have given my curling iron a proper burial

the heavy metal stage..ripped jeans, bleached jeans, black rubber bracelets, huge earrings, 2 cans of aqua net on the huge spiked hair per week.......
I fell victum to this too
I used stiff stuff. Remember this? Even more dangerous than Aquanet. This stuff had the same ingredients as glue
I also always wore rock jerseys. Remember those, and the animal print jeans in different colors that were so tight you had to lay down to zipper them. I think they were called Corniche jeans. They had no back pockets

i remember stiff stuff i started using that after i was told that it has better staying power then aqua net lol. but do you remmeber it would leaver white stuff in your hair lol like build up even shampoo was hard to get it out lol. i think that is what they use to hold buildings together lol. that is some industrial stuff lol. okay remember decks? what about sweater vests lol i think every guido had one for the nights out.

yup, did this one. when i was about 7, i did the spiked bracelets and the black rubber bracelets, too. then there was the mini skirt and fishnets faze. oh, then this one. the banana clips. remember star trek and the guy who had the thing over his eyes. he was levar burton from reading rainbow and roots...yeah, i had the clip but i used to put it in at the top of my hair. i was weird. then in high school, i wore the same thing every day. a windbreaker over every thing!!! and i would wear the same jeans for a month straight and they were so big i didn't need to unbutton them to go to the b/r. gap, mens jeans, 32/34. LOVED THEM!!!

Stiff Stuff LOL yes it was DEFINITELY made with glue!! I used it to tease my hair in the front - the higher the better!!
During HS - I wore the baggy jeans, polo collared shirts, hoop earrings the whole 9 yards. Revlon's 'Toast of New York' lipstick stayed on my lips all 4 years LOL.
The fad I liked the best was during college -
vintage ripped Levi's (had to be Levi's!), baby t's, Doc Martens...aka the grunge phase. Dyed my blonde hair reddish brown. Wore the matching brown lipstick.

OMG, i LOOOOOVEDDDDD toast of new york, holy crap, i think i still have it somewhere in my lipstick drawer!!!!! that and blackberry!! holy crap, revlon really had some great colors in the mid 90's!!!

I was also a victim of the guidette fashion sense, my hair added about 3 inches to my height LOL. Also wore EG socks, very slouchy and always 2 pairs w. different colors over stretch jeans w. zippers up the sides. Ususally paired that up with a BUM sweatshirt. And keds. I was also one of those girls in the club pulling my Aquanet out of my bag. I dont even own hairspray now, its so funny.
No outfit was complete without my nameplate, and double heart ring that my first BF gave me...it even had a (teeny tiny) diamond chip

Big hair, z-cavaricchis, Thigh high stocking and doc martens with baby doll dresses, toast of NY lipstick as well as coffee bean , palazzo pant (very 90210 lol) stiff stuff, hyper color shirts , flannels with the arms ripped of with a body suit underneath now that was a site for sore eyes, shoe boots with big john jeans lol the memories!
