What happens if...

What happens if...

You end up having too many people reply 'yes' to your wedding and you can't fit them in the room? Since a LOT of our guests are OOT we assume we won't have more than 130 or 140 and our room holds up to 150 (but someone on LIW said that over 120 and it's cramped). But we invited 180, so what if almost everyone says yes? Will our BM let us switch rooms at the last minute? Are halls usually accomodating about this? I don't think there will be a problem, but it's one of my nightmares, having too many people to fit in our reception room. Should I be worried with my numbers?

Don't worry - not everyone will say yes.

I invited 210, expected 160-170, got 145 (before no shows).

Like the other girls posted... I am sure they won't all come...

But... I doubt they would let you switch rooms, b/c most likely they will be booked for those rooms with larger parties.

not everyone is going to say yes, so you will have room to fit your other guests..

yeah... you'll be fine... we invited 150... 120 RSVPd yes, and then we had 4 less than that at the reception because DHs aunt and uncle and their 2 kids decided to drive all the way to come to the church and then not come to the reception- even though they RSVPd yes!!!! don't even get me started

so yeah, you'll have people who RSVP no, and then also peple who just don't show up....

If I remember correctly, you're in the same room as me. My BM told me it seats 144 max. (12 tables of 12)

So if you figure the normal yes/no ratio, you should be okay and will probably end up with about 130 - 140 out of 180 guests!!

Thanks Janna! I read an old post on the 05 board and someone said you couldn't have more than 120 in the oak room! I had a minor freak out. Thanks again, reception room twin!!

You will get the No responses at the end, even from people who knew all along that they weren't coming. And you will get last minute cancellations.

However, I wouldn't count on being able to change rooms. I think it would depend on whether all the rooms are booked.
