I am getting last minute cancellations and we are now 7 ppl under. What will the RH do? I have 12 vendors, will they be included for the minimum?

they charge you for your guarantee whether you have that many guests or if you fall short. i don't think vendors count bc they usually get a different rate. you have to check your contract for the specifics.

Every catering hall is different I'm sure. I know that my CH will include your vendors to meet your minimum. But then you don't get them for the discounted rate. If you include your vendors and you're still below your minimum, they might throw in some extras for you. I would find out what your CH does.

Yeah I have to call tomorrow. we just got a few cancellations so i was just curious if there was a common protocol. Wtih vendors we meet the minimum so I guess we'll see.

Yeah I hear you on that...it's amazing how weddings bring out the best in some people and the WORST in others. A LOT of people have been added to my s*hit list in the past few months

Hah. Yeah, that's like myself and my extended family right now. My RSVP date is 2 weeks away and I have not gotten one back from any of them. I've gotten over 70 back from FH's side, but none from my family.

yes vendors do count towards your minumum but they will be full price instead of half price. Also dont forget to add u and FH to the count good luck

I am pretty sure my rh hall said if we do not make teh minimum we can count the vendors towards it.
If not try and get them to trough something else in.

If you dont meet your minimum all the halls I looked at said they do this too... They count your vendors into your minimum, I was also told mine counts children as full price too if you dont meet your minimum to make up for it.

Thanks ladies. The secretary working with us isn't in until tomorrow so noone could help me from the RH. I was hoping the vendors would count towards the minimum but I never thought we would have this issue so I never asked.

Check your contract. You probably have to give your final number about 3 or 4 days before the wedding. That will be the number they charge you - unless you already guaranteed a minimum. Some RHs just make you give them an estimate, not a guaranteed minimum. Again, read your contract and call if necessary.
