The sellers won't close by when the contract says we have to????
Closing date was estimated at 10/15. So the sellers have 30 days to push the closing back....so that would be 11/15.
The sellers just asked our lawyer if we would close a few weeks after the 30 day mark. I am just furious...they were in such a rush to get out.
We told them we can't since our apt is rented. What happens if they won't close by when the contract says???

Re: What happens when....
DH and I were in the same position when we bought this house. Our contract said we were supposed to close on feb 1, so they technically had up to April 1. We ended up closing on the 22nd of April. Our lawyer said that we could fight for them to pay us for each day over but he recommended that we wait a little and see. He said if you push too hard then they could mess around with the house.

It is in our contract that they have to pay like $300 per day for every day they stay.

That's once they close with you and need to stay longer. It's harder to get them to actually close!

Good for you! I used to own a house nearby your new one..I was in Selden. We just moved last year to Middle Island. It's a hike, but I love the development I'm in.
