what is an average price for a bedroom set?

I have no idea about furniture prices...

what would you expect to pay for 6 pieces (bed, armoir, 2 nightables, mirror, dresser)

perhaps you can share what yours cost?

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

We just ordered our bedroom furniture from Ethan Allen and it came to $6500. Bed, armoire, dresser, 2 nightstands, and a mirror. Here is a pic:

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

It really all depends on where your ordering from..... you can get a complete set at seamans for under $2000 or you can get a set at thomasville or ethan allen for $7000.

My set right now is a piece of junk because I'm waiting until we move so I can get a really nice one. : )

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

I cant say exactly but they are pricey.

Since I didnt want to spend a lot on a bedroom set, we got everything at Ikea. Not nearly as nice as some of the bedroom sets the other girls on here have but it matches and it does the job without breaking the bank.

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

Lisa, we paid about $3300 for a Broyhill set from JCPenneys. It's considered mid range but after 2 and 1/2 years we're very happy with the quality.

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

We just spent about $1,700 for a bedroom set. However, my dream set will be from Ethan Allen -- I love their English Classic collection.

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

We paid just over $7000 for ours, BUT it's a huge king sized wall unit headboard with a double dresser, triple mirror, and armoir, so I think it uses a lot more wood than the one you posted (which I love, by the way).

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

My set is definitely not my 'dream' set. We paid about half of what most of the other ladies paid...$3500 for double dresser w/mirror, chest of drawers (instead of armoire), Queen bed and two nightstands. We like it, and it serves the purpose...we bought it in California when we first moved in together...maybe I'll get to upgrade in a couple of years.

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

The bedroom set that we have our eye on is made by Stanley. It will be in the $5000-6000 range... (not sure which pieces will work best yet!)

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

The one that we have our eye on is a bedroom set from Stickley. With the sale price it cost $9000!! (that includes King bed, chest, two nightstands, and two lingerie chests) but its top of the line and something that will last a long time!

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

wow! I had no idea furniture was so expensive! My sister found this set for HER, but I really like it too.

Its Costco's website for ~$2K, but she's getting prices from NC as well.

I just can't see my loving any furniture enough to spend a fortune.

Maybe if I keep it cheap, I won't feel like I have to live with it forever...

Thanks girls!

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

Lisa, that's EXACTLY the rationale Jeff and I had when we purchased our set. We felt is was a good price b/c we needed it...but, that somewhere down the line, we'd get something different. I agree, the more you spend, the more it behooves you to keep it longer.

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

I also come from the thinking that your bedroom set isn't something you get rid of every few years anyway. We bought something recently and I plan to have it forever, it is real wood and I know it will last. It retailed for $3000 but we got it for $1200 (since my BIL works for Seaman's).

Re: what is an average price for a bedroom set?

The set I have my eye on is about 5,000 plus another 1,200 for an additional piece I want. (sale price). It is Thomasville but hopefully we will get it cheaper in NC. I thought that was a decent price but I am someone who thinks bedroom and dining room are the two rooms where I will want my furniture to last a really long time therefore will spend the $$ to get quality.
