just wondering what everyone is doing to save $ for the wedding. FH and i are paying the majority of the wedding ourselves so we are trying to cut a lot of costs from now till then. These are the things that we are doing..... We used to get food out a lot but now we are trying really hard to only buy food out 1 night a week (ie: like fast food, pizza, chinese food, etc.) we decided to try to only go to a restaurant once a month.
Also, i now have a part time job on saturdays and i am trying to work most saturdays from now till the wedding ( i am aiming for at least 3 saturdays out of the month)...my second job pays really well, the hourly rate is actually higher than at my full time job since they do not have to give me benefits.
We also decided that any time his parents want to invite us to dinner we will go, since they always pay (so bad, i know! but they like to!)
FH is going to try to find another job too, but it is more difficult to find per diem/part time work in his field.
any other ideas?? obviously i am trying not to go shopping as much, but when it gets closer to the honeymoon i will want to buy some cute outfits, etc. to wear there!

Nothing really, we were never big spenders, we are just going with the flow...

Re: what is everyone doing to save for the wedding?
I havent charged anything since we got engaged and I am just trying to put all of the money from my yearly raise away and live like I did before the raise. So that will be a nice little bit of change at the end of 07 as long as i keep it up! FH will be doing the same when he gets his raise later this month!

We're really not doing anything different except when it comes to gifts for the holidays, we decided to not spend as much on each other as we usually do.

Re: what is everyone doing to save for the wedding?
we each have a high yield savings account online (well worth it, although we should probably combine the two), being more frugal about eating out and buying luxury things for ourselves and each other. we even set a limit for christmas this past year and birthdays coming up. we calculated how much money we would need to save per month and as long as we meet that goal, the extra money can go to anything we want.
oh, also applied for a cash back credit card. 5% cash back if use at grocery stores, convenient stores, and gas. might as well get some money for things you're going to charge and need anyway.
