what is everyone's buget on their wedding

HELLO EVERYONE NEW TO THIS SITE

MY NAME IS KAREN AND MY FI NAME IS ROB WE WERE ENGAGED ON 2/12/03
OUR WEDDING DATE IS 09/10/04

I'AM A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED AND I KNOW I SOULD NOT BE. YOU SEE MY FI HAS THREE SISTERS ONE IS ABOUT MY AGE 24 AND HER FI PROPOSED TO HER ON 02/13/03 AND THEIR DAY IS 09/29/04. SO WE WERE TALKING TO THEM AND THEY ALREADY BOOK THEIR HALL. BUT HER FI SAID YOU CAN'T HAVE A NICE WEDDING FOR UNDER 50,000 AND I AM LIKE WOW I MEAN MY LIMIT IS 35.000-45,000 I DON'T KNOW IF THAT'S IS A BAD PRICE. NOW HIS FAMILY COMES FROM MONEY AND WE ARE PAYING EVERYTHING ON OUR OWN.

SO I JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT OTHER BRIDES BUGET WERE

No nice wedding for under 50K

My budget is MAX of $30K. So far with all the vendors booked except florist Im at 21K.
I think the average budget is 20K

That's absurd! How many people are you looking to have? I am having a 250 and it's costing me in your range...however it is in Febuary. If you have less people, you can still keep your budget. Don't listen to them. It's definately possible.

You can definitely stay under 50K. Your biggest expense is the catering hall. You can save a lot of money depending on the time of year (May-Oct is usually peak season) and what day and time you have your wedding. Sat. night is the most expensive. Afternoons and Fri night aer usually much cheaper. We are hoping to stay under 30-35K.

my budget is between 35,000-40,000. it depends on what is most important to you. flowers, invites, favors are not on the top of my list, but the band and food is, so i am spending the majority of my budget on the reception and music.

We plan on doing ours for under 25k, but that does not include music and my dress, mom is paying for that.

That only inlcludes the reception and ceremony, flowers, photo, video, and the little things... hair, makeup,etc...

Wow $50,000, Me and FI planned our wedding for well under $20,000 (and that's including everything even the honeymoon). Well I'm just a budget conscious person could spend well over that but I wouldn't dare. (JMO) My friend is spending well over $80,000 for her wedding.

Don't worry what everyone else spends because whatever kind of wedding you have, it will always be memorable and you'll have money left over

I'm planning on under $20k for my wedding... 100-125 people. We're getting money gifts from both sides(and trying not to go over so we can still afford a house). He asked his parents in advance for a ballpark figure to help our planning

You are a week before me. I am Sept 18 (NYlisa is the same day and we're in the same hall) and before we booked anything FI and I did a budget.

I am having about 398 people at my wedding and we have a budget of about 50k- 60k.

Theresa, read, ok read...She is having 100 people...

You can have a beautiful wedding of 100 people for
$45,000.

You are having 398 people. $50-60,000 is normal for Russo's, but she is only having 100 people. Now tell me what I said wrong again?

Say she pays 100 per head..

Then the Tax and % of 18 for grauities....

Then factor everything else...

She has to get the price per head lower then 100..
and for SEPT which a prime mt I doubt she will.

You are getting married in an off mt like I am and I am sure are paying less per head then if it was a prime mt.. I am just saying you insult people LIKE myself with your words!

Sorry if I offended you personally, not intentional. But I did call some of those places and I know that they are about $120 a head, but she is having it on a Friday. (I believe it was $90 at Riviera last April for a Friday night...) They are all reasonable. No one can tell her she can not have a nice wedding of 100 people for less than that. Look at everyone elses budget? They are having more people and aren't paying close to $50,000. I know that in my situation, I am more in to buying a home than having a wedding. It's all your preference...

I also think that it is everyone's preference what you spend, and it not only depends upon how many people you have & where you have it, but how much you want to invest in your vendors. If you want a band it could be more, or you can spend more on the flowers, etc. I know for me, my reception place isn't too bad, but I spending a heck of alot on everything else!!! I'm also having 100 people (but that is as of now, have a feeling it's going up) and I know it is less than $50,000, but I could see how depending on alot of factors it could EASILY get to be that much money. My point was don't let anyone tell you that it CAN NOT be done. I know some of places that she has listed and she should not have a problem staying in price range, even with a band. It is possible...No one can tell her that it's not.
