What is the cutoff age for a Jr. BM?

What is the cutoff age for a Jr. BM?

My sister is going to be 13 on my wedding day, therefore she is a 'jr. bridesmaid' in my BP. However.. she is just as tall as all the other bridesmaids!!! I think putting straps on her dress (which I was going to do) will not look right. Do you suggest that I add the straps anyway or just keep the dress 'as is' which is strapless? Do you think that even though she is 13, she will still be too young for a strapless dress? The dress is rather plain (Im at work.. I dont have a pic) with a rhinestone buckle in the middle.

Thanks for your help

One quick question to add... Should I still consider her a 'Jr. BM' or just a reg 'BM'?

If she's just as tall as the other women, I'd say leave the straps off. Plus, I'm sure she'll feel special since she's technically a TEEN!!!

My niece is 15 and she's 5'7' and she's a BM. These young girls nowadays are so tall and womanly, I don't remember being that way at their age.

I think the cut-off age is 15....to be called a BM. Anyone under 15, older than 10 - Jr. BM

ETA: forgot to answer the question!

I don't think height has anything to do with it, as much as the dress itself being a factor to determine straps or no straps.

I would give her straps - being her age...

Dont worry about the rules, do what you want!

Yea I think that a 13 year old girl can wear a strapless dress. Nothing is set in stone - making her a BM is fine. Ask her what she feels comfortable in regarding the dress.

It really depends on how comfortable she would be in a strapless. Ask your sister what she would prefer. I know you said the straps might not look right, but I think your sister's happiness is more important and will show thru on your big day.

I have a cousin who is 14 and I asked her to be a BM, I felt she was mature and old enough looking to be a 'full' BM. My jrBM is only 8, since she's FH's daughter I wanted her to have that 'special' title to herself. That's why when looking for dresses I made sure to get one that would be appropriate for my 14 y/o cousin. HTH!!
