What is the overall average cost of a LI wedding?

just curious. We are starting to look at halls now and I'm wondering what is the least possible amount of money we can spend on 150 guests.
I know time of the year plays a huge factor so we are leaningaway from our original july 2008 date. april and oct are much cheaper.

Yes it can, but there are ways to cut down.
One of the biggest factors is your hall -- like others have said. There are a bunch of ways to cut costs with your hall:

1) You can choose a less expensive hall

2) You can cut costs by getting married any time other than Saturday night (an afternoon, Fri/Sun, etc).

3) You can get married 'off-season' (whatever the hall considers that to be)

4) You can book late (however, this might make it harder to get the date or other vendors you want)

5) You can (and should) NEGOTIATE with the hall!!!!!!!

6) You can cut extras (Vienesse hour, extra stations, add-ons)

7) You can cut your guest list (not always possible, but probably the biggest money saver)

Obviously there are drastic price discrepancies with respect to other vendors (elaborate tall floral centerpieces v. DIY candle centerpieces; $10k designer dress v. $2k dress; 9 piece band v. DJ) but the RH will probably have the biggest impact on your budget.

We are having our wedding at the Floral Terrace the day after Thanksgiving, which is a Friday night. We are having a Viennese hour and we were quoted for over 200 ppl.

We also booked our photographer and videographer along with the favors and we are at about $23K right now.

I am guessing that by the time we are done with everything, we will be at about $30K. I refuse to spend a lot of money on anything else for the wedding...it just isn't worth IMO.

Also, the Floral Terrace gives you a voucher for 10 days at the Aegean Palace in Greece, good for up to a year so that means that our honeymoon will be cheaper as well.
