What is the proper way to do this?

What is the proper way to do this?

My moms cousin replied NO to the wedding, they live in Arizona and I barely know them, but they just sent me a $100 check.

Do I send a thank you card now or wait until after the wedding and send a rwal thank you with our pic?
TIA

I agree with the girls. Defintely send one now and then send a formal one afterwards.

I would send it now thanking them and tell them that you are sorry they are unable to attend

I think you should send an informal thank you note now, and then a formal one when you have the one from your photographer.

how will they know if you've received it? I know it'll eventually show on their bank statement but in the meantime they'll think it got lost in the mail if you don't acknowledge it

This happened to me too with someone from work. I sent a thank you now and then will send one with the pic later.

You could either send a little thank you now and then when you get your real thank you's with your picture you can send them one of those too...or you can just wait and send the real thank you after the wedding.

We received so many checks with the replies NO. I would absolutely send a thank you card now and state in the thank you how they will be missed and houw thoughtful it was of them to think of you and dh at this time

I agree, I would send one now, and then one after the wedding with your pic, that would be a really nice gesture IMO
