First my boss gave me issues with taking off for my honeymoon. It is at a quarter end and he had the nerve to tell me that I should have planned my wedding around work. I told him that my life (unlike his) does not revolve around work and that I planned my wedding when I WANTED to have it, and he will just have to deal with it. Then he started b*tching cause I wanted to take a total of 12 days off. 3 days before the wedding to get ready and then the week off for the honeymoon and 2 days to rest, relax when I got back. After much arguing i am taking 9 days off and working from home the last two days of my vaca to appease him. My flight gets in at midnight on Oct 5th and he is making me work on Oct 6 (from home, but still). Why cant people just let you be happy and take the time you need. Trust me, I am not needed to work those days, he just doesnt ever let anyone take off without a fight.
Now FH is having trouble taking off. He put in for the days and they asked for proof that he is going away, which he provided and now they said we 'will see'. UM yeah you will cause no matter what you decide HE IS GOING ON HIS HONEYMOON. He has the vacation days I do not understand why its a fight to take them

wow that stinks! i can't believe jobs actually are giving you a hard time taking off. I didn't know people struggled with that, i thought everyone would be understanding ... ha ha ha i guess i was wrong, im sorry that yoru boss is being an A S S...

im sorry they are giving you such a hard time. then to show proof thats crazy. i know the way things are going today they want people to be all about work and make it their life....but we work to live not live to work. it will work out in the end just have fun.

omg i cant believe they said 'we'll see' do they expect him not to go on his HM, and one that is already paid for lol. People are ridiculous. He has vacation time so what is their issue.

I feel your pain....I asked my Principal b/c it's the last day (but kids have a half day....to sit in an empy, packup up room and get their report cards)...she didn't give me an answer and said she'll get back to me tomorrow(but that was last Monday) So I'm still waiting too grr

Wow ridiculous!
I think that if you are getting married, you should automatically be given 2 weeks off paid in addition to your normal vacation time.
They give families time off to deal with bereavement, sick family members, babies, adoptions, etc. why cant the brides get off as well? I mean its a huge life changing event, especially if you dont already live with your FH.
