what is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to the wedding?

people saying 'becareful! you get what you pay for' like i dont look at and research my vendors first!!!

People keep asking what my dress looks like, what my favors are, what do my centerpieces look like, etc. etc.....I usually just gracefully dodge the question with a VERY vague answer but I'm like you'll find out on May 17th of next year

people asking me how much things cost, it's one thing for you girls to ask me for informational purposes but when people ask me just because they're nosey, it irks me, I am irked

Also, I'm older and I hear a lot, 'If I could do it over, I wouldn't spend the money on...blah, blah, blah...I would just have it in a backyard...blah, blah, blah.' I'm spending a fraction of what I know people usually spend, yet I still sometimes feel like I need to explain myself.

Ugh...I HATE that also, I think it's rude. I sometimes want to nicely just say 'ok so the next time YOU get married, then you'll know'

another pet peeve is when people say 'OH WHY ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED BLAH BLAH'

For example my trainer at the gym got married a little over a year and he is like 'OH ITS NOT WORTH IT, FIGHTING, MONEY ISSUES ETC' so I nicely said well I guess I'll find out right

the thing that bothers me is people are talking about bringing their kids. we aren't inviting kids. i hate telling people that b/c i feel like the mean bride who doesn't like kids.

...i LOVE kids...i just don't want them at our wedding b/c once you let one person bring their kids you have to let EVERYONE...and that would add like 25 people to our guestlist...we just don't have the room!!!

at my brothers wedding....SIL's nieces were the flower girls...and the little darlings thought it was fun to jump on all the BM's trains that were all bustled up and break them! so the whole night I had to HOLD my train or let it get ripped when someone stepped on it!!!!!

NO KIDS ALLOWED AT MINE EITHER!!!!!!!!!

I hate that also, I remind them that 'one of the first weekends in January when we booked our RH it was 70 degrees outside'. And I'm praying for that type of weather again January 2,2009.

Of course I hate the ' oh my god you have so much time'.

Ugh, yes. Ditto that. We're pretty close too, but I just can't seem to do or say anything without 'hurting her feelings' since the whole wedding planning began.

Exactly - everything I say 'hurts her feelings.' She says I'm not including in her in anything. Then when I invite her, she disagrees with me about everything. She at first tried to tell me I need to bring all nine of my BMs to pick a BM dress. Then, I bought 3 of them, and it was hell on earth and she started insisting that I only let one of them pick. Finally, I put up a poll on here and brought FH and let a combo of the LIW girls and FH pick the dress!!!!!

Oh I can name another one that might beat every single thing posted prevviously....

I work at a law firm as a 'summer associate' (aka a law student). After about a week of being there, the matrimonial partner realized I was engaged, and told me to go into his office and he shut me in there with a woman who was getting divorced and made me ask her if I should get married. THe two of them then told me why I shouldn't get married and exactly what killed both of their marriages.

Now, if I were a younger, more naive, or less strong willed person....can you imagine what effect this would have had on me????

I told my dad (also a lawyer) and he was so mad he wanted to call this attorney because he felt this was the most inappropriate and unprofessional thing he could've done. For the sake of my job, I told him to stay out of it and that it had absolutely zero effect on me and I only allowed it to happen because I was one week into a new job.

Can you say COMPLETELY JADED!??!?!!?

I hate the 'you're too early' thing...I've been engaged for about 2 1/2 years so now I finally get to do stuff! And I don't want to be doing the stuff when I'm finishing my last semester of school!

I also hate that everyone thinks that just because they are unhappy in a relationship that it's their job to bring us down. I just say ok thanks and it's in one ear and out the other! That's crazy about the divorce lawyer- why are people out to ruin our fun!!!

OMG, that is horrible. Just because someones marriage does't work out, certainly doesn't mean your wornt either. They are probably not the best people to be getting advise from either. That is just wrong on so many levels.
