Oh I can name another one that might beat every single thing posted prevviously....
I work at a law firm as a 'summer associate' (aka a law student). After about a week of being there, the matrimonial partner realized I was engaged, and told me to go into his office and he shut me in there with a woman who was getting divorced and made me ask her if I should get married. THe two of them then told me why I shouldn't get married and exactly what killed both of their marriages.
Now, if I were a younger, more naive, or less strong willed person....can you imagine what effect this would have had on me????
I told my dad (also a lawyer) and he was so mad he wanted to call this attorney because he felt this was the most inappropriate and unprofessional thing he could've done. For the sake of my job, I told him to stay out of it and that it had absolutely zero effect on me and I only allowed it to happen because I was one week into a new job.
Can you say COMPLETELY JADED!??!?!!?
That's crazy

Re: what is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to the wedding?
all our friends laugh at us about getting married saying WOW with all the divorce rates why bother? I say well it's really not like me to go with the 'popular' style of the day so I guess I am safe.
I get annoyed when people say my ring is cute or i like the fact its small because really big rings are annoying and people associated with big rings are annoying.
I really could give a c r a p about a ring at this point in my life. I am not about status symbols otherwise i would be driving a nice car and be in debt over my over saturated designer wardrobe IoI Then if it goes further I saw listen when we have money and are no longer see its more important to have a house and a wedding then maybe we will get myself a nice (still small to the masses perceptions) vintage ring that is more suitable to me. That and i don't make fun of people for having big rings because that is important to them but not to me.
OR the best - well aren't you worried you will be this fat on your wedding day? I go listen i have lost 12 lbs and kept it off for over a month and I am still dropping weight if i get down 20 lbs i will be happy and F OFF
