I'm dying over here. I work with foodies and chefs all day, and they are on my case to get All Clad or Calphalon and the stuff is gorgoues - but so dang heavy!
What did you get? I really want high quality, as I cook often and want to learn to do it really well.
TIA!

I registered for Calphalon Tri Ply Stainless Steel 10-Piece Cookware Set from bed bath and beyond. It was the nicest set there.
We are going to get the same set. I don't like non-stick stuff (with the exception of maybe a good omlette pan) because after a while it looks bad and can possible get damaged if if is scraped up. JMO. We are also going to add pieces that are sold separately.

We are going to register for Emerilware. After much research, it seems like it is really good. And it's made by All-Clad but not as expensive!

FI insisted on a Cuisanart set... it is classic 18/10stainless steel... the bottom has a special base for even heat distribution.. he is in love with it... thats all i know... we also registered for some additional non stick pans to go with the set....
This is also what we registered for...but I WISH I could have registered for ALL CLAD! There's just no way anyone is buying me pots upwards of $600...and I would feel so GUILTY!

Calphalon for us!
FIL's are all chefs, so FH is used to working with good quality stuff. I couldn't say no, could I?!

I too did a lot of research (consumer reports etc.) and found the Emerilware by All-Clad was rated very high so I registered for them.
