What kind of dog do you have? And would you get the same or a different breed?

I've always had Goldies growing up, FH and I have a Rottweiler (1/2 german, 1/2 American) and we LOVE her!!!...I've always wanted a Sharpei! FH wants a Weimeraner (spelling??)

I have three Bostons, I have always grown up with them and probably wouldn't switch breeds (although I love Pugs and French Bulldogs).

My mom had a few Pekinese (sp) while I was growing up too and she now has a Pomeranian that she inherited from my brother.

I prefer smaller breeds, that's for sure (even though I love all animals.

I have a toy poodle. He's my second, and I'd get another in a hertbeat. I love that that are small, smart, and non-shedders!

Another Boston Terrier lover!!! We are actively looking to get him a playmate...hopefully anohter Boston...but French Bulldogs (bostons were orignially bred from them) are great looking to...I also love Bull Terriers (spuds macKenzie), but I hear that they are not good with other dogs

We have a golden (8yrs old), choc lab (10yrs old) & mutt (12yrs old - she's my avatar). I had a siberian husky growing up. I just want our next dog to be a puppy - don't care what breed. We adopted the choc a year ago when he was nine, I've had my mixed since she was one (a co-worker couldn't keep her any longer - she's deaf & was too much work for his family) and FI has had golden since a puppy, but I haven't had a puppy since I was a pup myself!

We have 2 black labs: 1 bench and 1 field.

Next on my list is a Newfoundland.

i have a cocker spaniel. she's our second. we've also had a springer spaniel. i love spaniels. they are the sweetest dogs. the springer was a lot more work though, very hyper and much bigger than we thought she would be (although she was the exception). anyway, i love small dogs so i'd maybe want a dachsund or beagle, but i'll probably get a cocker again.

I have a Belgian Shepherd (my avatar) she's a total sweetie. I actually got her from a shelter in Michigan (long story) but found out she is a pure bred.

Growing up I had a sheepdog and a Chow Chow.

I would get another Belgian Shepherd in a heartbeat, although I also love Goldens, Labs and Shiba Inus.

I have a little 9 pound Afenpinscher. He is adorable ! I think he is the greatest breed ! He does not shed -- is not yappy and is very loving! Also he is great with Aidan -- Aidan tortures him and he has never once snapped or barked at Aidan -- they chase each other around all day !

I have a 10 month old English Bulldog named Lola. She's ALOT of work, but mellowing and is a cutie

my mom has 2 dogs.

she has Lucy.. a maltese mix..




and she has Fluffy a bichon frise..

my FILs (where FH & I live at) have 2 kuvasz's.
the female is larger than a Golden Rot. and as friendly as can be to any human, but hates any furry wild animals (was left in the woods for like 6months). The male is HUGE, and is about 150lbs, and does not like strangers, or people he does not trust.

when they are groomed, they are so pretty, but their hair is so thick, so it's high maintenance, they are so large that the hair is EVERYWHERE IN THE HOUSE & on you when they pass by you....so I will never own one myself! Oh and large dog means large DROOL!

They also got a peekenees. I LOVE HIM! Soft hair, always follows you around, no rubbing hair on me.

I want a lassa when I get own house and maybe a golden rotreaver (sp?)

erica - aren't they great!!!! (they're oversized, fluffy labs! ) I've been bugging my DH for a couple of years now. He just thinks it would be chaos in our house with 3 dogs. I'm all for it!

We have mixed breed dog. We got him from death row at the pound. He's half boxer half mastiff (Duke) . He's not super big. He's only a 120 pounds.
My nieghbor has a purebred mastiff.
Aptly named 'Tank' at just over 200pds and 6ft on his hind legs. He's so beautiful. I told them I could never dogsit, cause I'd dognap him. LOL!!
Dh and I plan on getting a mastiff after Duke is gone, as he will not tolerate any other animal beside human within 100yds. But that will a long time coming as our dog is only 4yrs

I have a long hair chihuhua. I would get 10 more if I could. My little Luigi is the best dog in the whole world.

I don't have a dog now.. Im a cat woman at the moment.. but I like dogs.. just feel guilty I dont have space for one.

My favorits are the German Shorthaired Pincher. Great attitude.. so lovable. I had one for around a year.

That and my old buddy 'doby' my Doberman Pincher. I gave him to a woman whose own doberman was run over by a truck. Mine was such well tempered she'd cry everytime she saw him. She only lived down the road from me, so I guess I did the 'right thing'.

Growing up we had Old English Sheepdogs. Now my parents have a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.
