Choose your hall, how did you know? To me and my fiance the food is our #1 concern, I have not been to a lot of places and the ones I was at the food didn't necessarily stand out as GREAT. Where have you been that the food was

Re: What made you
We wanted a place that had great landscaping, scenery. My mom kept trying to convince me to have it at the local halls here in Queens because they would've been about 40-50 a plate. But they have not outdoor grounds! So when i was looking online, I came across Chateau La Mer. It was everything i wanted.. It is on the water and you can arrive on their yacht and the dock area is so pretty, and in the summer they have palm trees outside.. It was the first and only place we looked at and i couldnt be happier!!!

Wow , they have a yacht you can arrive on, where does it pick you up? Is it used like the bridal suite, that sounds neat.

The food at our RH is AWESOME!!! the Metropolitan in Glen Cove. Went for a tasting and it was simply amazing! We also chose our place because it had a homey feel to it. Dark wood, not your average bright location.

Re: What made you
well when FH and I were walking into Jericho Terrace we had big plans to play hard ball, and to act disinterested to get the best deal - well all that went out the window when we walked in - We were practically giddy at how gorgeous the place was (especially decorated for christmas) - if the entrance had that effect on us, i picture it having that effect on my guests which was very important to me -
I haven't tried the food there in years but I have only heard great things about the food
AND every single person we came in contact with was smiling and they were very friendly and EXTREMELY helpful
ALSO - since I am having a winter wedding they have GREAT indoor places to take pictures

We also choseThe Metopolitan because of their reputation for quality food. Food & one wedding at at time were our 2 criteria.

Re: What made you
We are getting married at the reception hall so, apart from the regular concerns, we really wanted a beautiful outdoor setting.
North Ritz just had everything we were looking for. The outdoor setting is beautiful, as are the ballroom and the cocktail hour room, andthe banquet manager that we met with was great.
Finally, once we saw all the great reviews posted in this website we were sold.
We went to a tasting back in April and I finally got the see for myself how great the food is.

We picked the Milleridge Cottage for two reasons - food and the atrium where the cocktail hour is held. The food there was amazing! I am still hearing about it.

Re: What made you
I haven't booked my hall yet but there are a few things I know I want going in. I want it on the water for sure... I want to be the only bride there that day, in other words, no other weddings or functions going on at the time of my wedding, and this sounds silly, but I want the room to have a lot of windows overlooking the scenery.

Re: What made you
We wanted a place that had good food, one wedding at a time, the possibility of an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour weather permitting, on the water, and not too expensive. High hopes right?! Well we found all that in the Harbor Club.

We chose our hall because we heard a lot of good things about the service, food, etc. They were also very affordable which was a big plus because my FH and I are on a tight budget.

Re: What made you
i chose the jericho terrace for a few reasons, i had already been to about 5 halls and when i walked in i got a really good feeling, as previously stated by someone else the people were very friendly and i thought it was beautiful and elegant, also i have never been to a party there so the food concerned me, remember this was the first time we were there and they brought us a tray of antipasta and dish of pasta, they were both delicious, that clinched the deal for us, although we didn't tell them that.

Re: What made you
Dh was my date to my HS prom and my prom was at Jericho Terrace. I always had it in the back of my mind so when we got engaged, we looked at few other halls and left JT for last. We knew the food was good and just loved it, so we booked it right on the spot.

Re: What made you
I definitely wanted a reception hall on the water and my husband and I attended a wedding at the Riviera and fell in love. We loved the whole atmosphere, it's very cozy and the bridal room is awesome. Only 1 wedding at a time, which was very important to me. We really liked the long, mohagony bar and the fact that we could have an outside cocktail hour. Also, it's in a residential area, not off a main road, which I also liked. Oh and the food and people who work there are great too!

Re: What made you
Food was our biggest concern...then we wanted a place that was just beautiful and of course affordable. The CB has amazing food...the inside is reminisant of the old ocean liners, very 40's....and we got hooked up with the price(b/c my friend used to work there) I highly recommend them!
We wanted a hall with great food and grounds so we could take pictures at the hall. It turns out WCC had that and more that we loved... especially the price pp.

Go to the Harbor CLub - the food is outrageous and there is SO MUCH of it also. My sister was married there and when I got engaged I didnt look at any other hall
Its also got beautiful scenery on the Huntington Harbor
Love it!

Re: What made you
VC was the last place we looked at and i knew it was the 'one' instantly. FH just saw my face and was like 'okay, this is it'. the grounds and the cocktail hour room are AMAZING. and the staff is so sweet and helpful and accomodating. some other places i felt the people were snobby. i took my mom back a few days later (since my parents are paying) and i was practically skipping through the place to show her. they were like 'i guess we don't have to sell this place to her!' lol since we have booked, i haven't heard a bad thing about it... we went for our tasting and were very happy. i hear the thatched cottage is supposed to have great food.
