Re: WHAT MADE YOU
Westbury Manor gave out a video when we went to see them...we went to see 7 halls in one weekend and they were in the top 3...we watched the video with FH's family to show them what it looked like and we were sold!
That, and I really love the peacocks!

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
I chose Villa Lomardi's for various reasons.
The food is AMAZING, the place was beautiful, but my biigest thing was the cocktail hour room...it is GORGEUOS, and my biggest pet peeve when going to a wedding is I hate it when there is NOT enough room to sit for the cocktail hour. Their room holds up to about 250 people.

Westbury Manor- We went to see quite a few on weekend and the minute I walked into WM I knew this was the place!! I love how you feel like you are in another era by how all the rooms are decorated. Especially the library!! The grounds outside are also beautiful!!

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
I chose Chateau Briand, b/c it is sooooo beautiful inside. The interior is gorgeous, but also has like this grandiose prescense. I didn't have a 2nd choice b/c I saw CB over a year ago while helping a girlfriend of mine do her hall shopping. The minute I saw it, I knew it was for me, I never gave Len a choice of anywhere else

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
15th & West - The caterer really knew what he was doing with our menu (vegetarian) as opposed to all other sites/caterers. The place is beautiful and unique. We didn't want a catering hall, it's not for us. The location was just right and the price was so reasonable it surprised us! Also, we have heard nothing but glowing reviews of the site and caterer!

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
We chose the Meadow Club in Port Jefferson because as soon as we walked in, we had that feeling. It was beautiful inside, and the people were great. It was a plus to us that their rates were good, and that family members had been there before and raved about the food. We were not disappointed. We didn't have a second choice picked out. We went to see 3 halls in one day, and The Meadow Club was the 3rd. We would have gone back to search for more to look at if we didn't like that one either.

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
Chose Pt. Jeff Country Club b/c wanted it to be near the water, not too expensive, one wedding at a time and and wanted a more subdued casual and personal feel than some of the other bigger places. John Anthony's was probably my second choice, but they do more than one wedding at a time.

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
We also had that feeling when we walked into our hall, Majestic Gardens, and we went to ALOT of halls, we wanted something a little different, we planned on having our ceremony at the same location and felt this was 'the' place. The gardens and fountains are just what we wanted. Our first choice was Flowerfield, but out of our price range, big time.

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
North Ritz was the second hall we visited. The girl Jennie who helped us was the sweetest thing ever. The place is amazingly beautiful and the food is great and the price was right! I went first to see it with my mom and then that same night FH went back with me and we both had that feeling! I loved how big the cocktail hour room was and that separate bar & I loved how the recpetion room was set up-the bar set to the back out of people's way and it was beautiful! I LOVED that we are the only bride and groom and I just fell in love with the whole place!!!!!

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
We chose the Vineyard. There is just a feeling about the place. There was a couple having a tasting when we went and they said the food was amazing. The have the best places for pictures, their own vineyard and a really cool deck area for cocktails. I loved it from the first moment. Our second choice was Giorgio's at Fox Hill. Personally I thought the GM there was a jerk. He didnt make me feel like my wedding was special because I wasn't having 400 people. The place was beautiful (has panoramic view of LI) and I've heard the food is amazing too.

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
We chose the Stewart Manor CC because it was more us then any other place we looked at. It was warm and cozy - dark wood and fireplaces. We liked that it was one wedding at a time. The catering manager was very nice and they were well within our budget.
Our second choice was the Meadow Club, which is beautiful and had lots of great set ups for pictures. It was a little far east for a lot of our friends and family which was really the only negative. The food there was delicious (we went to a showcase there) and they included a lot in a very reasonable price.

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
we picked the Hamlet b/c 1 - we wanted one wedding only ... we weren't expected a huge crowd
2 - price was an issue since we didn't have a fortune to spend ... Flowerfield was also in the running but out of the question b/c they were too expensive
3 - we met with the director and loved him! This was the deciding factor ... we wanted to have our wedding in a place where we'd feel comfortable!
We knew that there'd be lots of gorgeous places & that anywhere we went, the food would be great & our guests would love it, but we wanted good people with a reputation for excellent service!! In the end we were soooo happy w/our choice.
Good luck w/yours!

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
Honestly it was just a feeling. As I drove up to Leaonard's I instantly fell in love with it. I have heard RAVES about the food and the staff was sooooooooooo helpful. The price was right and so was the room.

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
We are at the manor east and it was the first hall we looked at. We looked at 3 all together. From the moment we walked in our banquet manager made us feel like family. They were setting up for a wedding and he let us take a peak and the room was stunning. I was actually picturing my own wedding. The room where our cocktail hour will be had a party going on so he couldnt show us that room, but it was ok everything else was gorgous.
The price was definatly in our budget and we are getting so much food. Michael our BM was honest with us and wasnt concerned about making a sale, his concern was our happiness.
When we went to sign our contract we got to see the room where our cocktail hour will be and it was so pretty. it had the NYC skyline etched into a mirror on the back wall.
Michael made us feel like family, royalty and that our wedding is not just important to us, but to them.
I couldnt be happier with the decision. Every once in a while, i go to the folder that we got and i look at our menu, or i go to the website just to look at it. I cant wait till the wedding

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
I had been inside the Chateau Briand before with FH so we knew how beautiful it was. We love the architecture of the place. So when it was time to search for our wedding, we ended up going there as a thinking it would be out of our price range. We were wasting time b/c we had an appointment with North Ritz Club. Surprisingly we were wrong about CB! And booked a week later.

Re: WHAT MADE YOU
I chose my hall because I got treated very well....there was no gimmick pushing, or anything. Plus, the price was great. At the other halls I went to, the manager could have cared less about getting your business or not!
