Original post by cc2011
I'm soooooo curious to find out. It looks like there are so many talented people out there.. I have no idea how I'd pick.
So Ladies, what was it that made you select the photographer and videographer?

I had seen my photograhper's work and it just blew me away. Her use of color and light were just breathtaking! I absolutely knew I wanted to work with her from the minute I saw her photos. The more photos I saw, the more I loved her work! Not to mention she is truly on the sweetest people ever!! BLUE DAISY ROCKS!!!

My BFF used them, and her photos were awesome. They never were in the way at her wedding, barely noticed they were there. I hate when photographers are in your face in the way. I went in to meet them, and saw more work and was floored. My pictures speak for themselves.

Re: What made you pick your photograher and videographer?
When my sister was getting married in 2003 I noticed a particular photography studio I liked in Brooklyn. The work just stood out to me among all of the others. I found out through LIW that the photographer who shot those photos left that studio to start his own. The photographer was Chuck from Artisan photo Group. First of all the work just resonated with me. I liked the shots I saw. I wanted my wedding album to have a similar aesthetic.
Then every single moment dealing with Chuck and Lynn who runs the office has been fantastic. Lynn remembered me from my posts on LIW and actually approached me at a bridal show before we met in their office. The personal attention has been great.
I loved meeting with Chuck. he answered all of my zillion questions, and he even answered some NWR questions because photography is a serious hobby of mine (I was the photographer for a recent family wedding). After meeting with some other studios it was such a breath of fresh air to meet with a photographer and not a place where they feel all the photographers are interchangeable. Also, Chuck has a great personality and sense of humor. He's the kind of person who puts people at ease, and we will really need that to get my mom to smile for the camera!!!
The prices also seemed really reasonable to me, and they seemed to have a backup fpr every possible situation. Unlike other palces who told me :don't worry about it', Chuck actually answered all of my bridezilla questions by telling me specifically what the backup plans are.
I'm super excited about Artisan

Photographer - Loved her photos and how natural and amazing the love showed through. We clicked so well and I am SO excited to have her shoot our wedding.
Videographer - When I saw a sample of his, I cried for three straight days everytime I watched it, of complete strangers no less. Def pricey (which I try to block out haha) but AMAZINGGG!!!!

Personal experience, my cousin used him for her wedding. I was her MOH & I got the chance to watch this guy work first hand. His work is awesome, he gave my cousin a HI Res Disc at the end of her party that night & his photos are awesome. All we wanted was photos on a disc, he was happy to give us what we wanted with no hard sell. I did'nt even bother to shop around thanks to my cousin.

videographer: this isn't something that was originally high on our list, so budget was the number one factor. given that, there were a number of videographers within our budget, so we then looked at quality. That is what made us book with Couped Up. He is a vendor on here, and is great. A lot of girls are using him, it seems. He has some video stills of our wedding up on his blog
photographer: we found this vendor before our hall. we used Lana Rowe (www.lanarowephoto.com). She has our album up, FM me if you want the password. Her pricing is excellent, she has an assistant, and you own all of your images, and get them all on a disk, so if you are so inclined, you can print them all at CVS or email them to friends. We had teasers within two weeks of the wedding and everything in less than a month. She also sends you one hard copy of every proof. It was about 900 pictures

I'm using lovemorephoto for photgraphy, not only do I LOVE arek's style, he is perfectly priced for FH and I's budget and we get a lot out of it too. We love him.
We are looking into videography now, we're thinking about couped up or halo...Not sure yet but our decision will be based on how much bang we can get for our buck. We are definitely on a budget but we don't want that to effect our quality of services.

Re: What made you pick your photograher and videographer?
I picked Perceptions Photography because:
-their work is BEAUTIFUL -they are willing and excited to do more non-traditional pictures -they worked within my budget
I haven't received my proofs yet, but they were wonderful to work with on the day of.

Re: What made you pick your photograher and videographer?
I am sooo picky. I look for quality of lighting knowledge and recognizing people's good views. I also look at the composition of the pictures. I wanted photo journalistic and my photog won awards for that.
