What months are considered off-season for weddings?

Hello everyone!

I am completely clueless when it comes to peak wedding months! All I know right now is that June is an extremely expensive month, but I have no idea what months are considered to be off-peak as far as difference in prices. He proposed in December, but we met in June, so I'm trying to gauge which month would be better for us, price-wise. We definitely want a Saturday night wedding too because we want a party-feel to our reception Of course, this is also dependent on what months our church has available too - but I'm just trying to get an idea first. Any advice about good off-peak months would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

June isnt as popular as it used to be sept/oct is becoming more popular as foroff season its pretty much Dec thru march. So if you're heart set on a sat night id stay stick with dec. But if you do a friday night you get the same feel for cheaper or maybe a sunday night before a monday holiday? HTH!

December!!!!!!! december - march = off distance. my venue is more than double the price in june than i'm paying december!! definitely go with december and most vendors will give a discount for off season!! off season is always in your favor. not to mention, the first weekend in december if you choose has much more mild weather than the later part of the month!! or end of march also offers nice weather but still off season!!! best of luck. i have some eastern suffolk venue quotes if needed!

Definitely the winter months are considered off-peak and would definitely save you the most if your heart is set on a Saturday night wedding. You can also potentially save if you have it on a holiday weekend, like the major summer holiday weekends. Also look at places with all-inclusive packages for maximum savings and then it wouldn't matter what time of the year your wedding is. Good luck!

Somtimes even December can be pricier due to holiday parties. I would say February is probably the least expensive although sometimes 'peak season' varies based on the venue.

Although we started off wanting a Saturday night wedding too, we opted to go for a Friday night wedding to save a lot of money.

Unfortunately, a Friday night reception won't work for us. We have a lot of out-of-state friends and family, and we already have a few people who will have to take time off on Friday to come out the night before for our church rehearsal and dinner. We want to do everything we can to ensure all of our loved ones can come party with us on our wedding day

We are getting married June 1 which is a Saturday. We got a good deal since it is the beginning of the month.
We picked our date based on what would work best with FH work schedule and when it wouldn't be a problem for him to take off.
Call catering halls based on a 1 or 2 dates and take it from there.

definitely check out holiday weekends - our friends got married on july 3rd this year (a tuesday!) and saved a ton of money. we got married on black friday, the day after thanksgiving. saved a little on the hall being a friday. you may need to cut corners somewhere!

It really depends on the venue. I got married at Crest Hollow and the prices were lower for April and jumped in May. The prices could have been lower in March but April was the earliest that we wanted to have our wedding

East wind told me that off season is considered to be November through April. I chose to be close to a school vacation bc we did not want to get married during the summer.

I'm getting married on the Sunday of Memorial Day weeekend. I'm paying Sunday prices but everyone still has off the next day. I have a lot of out of town guests also so I'm hoping this helps them with the traveling.

Edited: My RH told me there are 4 Sundays with a Monday holiday after - Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, and I think the last one is MLK Day? Definitely worth checking these out, but they book fast!

The found the cheapest to be December to March but November and April you can find pretty good deals for too depending on the venue...Friday night is also a lot cheaper than Saturday if you're open to that. I'm doing a winter wedding, vendors didn't cut us breaks but we are getting married at our top choice venue for a much better price. I hate being hot too lol and its nice to not really have to worry about bad weather ruining your day bc I've accepted that I will most likely have bad weather lol

That's what I found out when I booked my hall. I wanted Fall 2013 thinking that it would be cheaper than the summer but my BM told me that july/August would have been cheaper. I couldn't switch since my brother is getting married two months before me in August.

im getting married late march and got great prices and deals...many vendors admitted that we can haggle more cause thats their slow season. we decided we wanted a Cadillac wedding with a KIA cost, lol
