I posted this in the article, but I know a lot of you might not read the article and the question might be lost so tell us about some of the perks offered at your job or perks you wish your job offered. Of course being realistic now

Things I would like

Flex time/work from home
On site childcare
Full tuition reimbursement no matter what the area of study
Longer maternity leave
I guess that's it

I would love to see some type of flex time or more PT work available. I work for a large company and often women will leave after having a baby, because there isn't any PT work availble, other than clerk-type.

NONE - for a mid size company it is pretty pathetic. They do offer partial tuition re-imbursement but you have to go thru hoops to apply and have it approved. We have a junky medical plan and no dental or eye care!! I don't even have business casual as a perk! I have to wear my stuff business suits, stockings, and heels everyday (but Fridays!) I hate it...sometimes I wonder how I made it here 7 years!

Thank goodness I married someone with great insurance benefits!!!

9 personal days
3 weeks off
no dress code really

protected by a union (or so they say)

whenever i go to a restaurant, anywhere of any kind, even a TGIF, i can get perks through my company.
I can get on the guest list of most clubs, things like this.

Not what I call my type of perks but...

I know shamma - I want the business causal wardrobe - my closet is full of stiff suits and suits are expensive and hard to find these days (esp. professional ones). For me, business casual makes it more comfortable to go to work. I have had dress down/business casual the last 3 weeks because they are doing major construction on my floor but I have to go back to suits in about a week! It is going to be horrible!!!! I am so dreading it. Clients rarely come to our office - so I don't see why not..I think they don't trust that all the employees will dress appropriately (we have business attire and you should see what some people esp. the woman wear!)

Suits are stiff indeed, I hear we are moving to midtown and we might be on the trading floor and everyone on the trading floor wears a suit, I think I will cut my wrist

Free AOL
Free cd's
Tuition reimbursement (only in an applicable field, and it's a certain percentage).
First dibs on concert tickets through a promoter.
Other stuff that I just can't think of.

But in return, we haven't seen a raise in over a year, I hate my boss, and my job is HELL.

My mom's company revoked CC b/c some people really went wild with it. When I used to be at Chase they sent out a list of appropriate clothes, no micro mini, which I think was geared towards me no open toe sandal unless with panty hose, I broke all the rules

yikes- my DH is on a trading desk (JPMorgan/ Chase) but he still has business casual - they haven't gone back to suits yet...he keeps hearing the rumors but they haven't done it....he feels exactly the way you do (he has a bigger wardrobe than I do - he must have 25 pairs of khakis and dress pants min.)....

shamma - you have to see the dress code memo they sent around. It was so funny - stuff like guys can't wear loud jewelry or makeup and how to wear the proper undergarments under your clothes! My department (who all dress professionally) were hysterical laughing that they had to tell us that!

1. Business Casual Attire- jeans on fridays
2. Suumer fridays, every other friday off, the other fridays half day.
3. A week off (paid) between Xmas and New years
4. Transportation Reimbursement
5. tuition reimbursement only 50%
6. Savings, stock plans,
7. Good vacation
8. Get taken out to lunch at really nice places from time to time
9. Get to travel somewhat.

It must be the same email they sent at Chase, they even said no wrinkles, and no shirts with logos on them. I hope we do not go back to Suits, I do not have any, I would end up wearing my black pants with my white oxford shirt everyday, I guess I would have to familiarize myself with Brooks Bros women

My friend works at Lehman Bros and they recently went back to business attire - we're pretty casual about it here, but no jeans, sneakers, t shirts, etc. You'd be surprised what ppl think they can actually get away with wearing to work though. Half these things I wouldn't be caught dead wearing

I have to agree with Bride04. We get summers and vacations. We also get tenure, which protects us from being fired over petty/trivial things. That's about it.

Shamma and Niecey - I totally see where you are coming from. I think I must be the only person who actually enjoys wearing suits to work! I know, I'm crazy!!
The thing is, with suits there's nothing to think about - you throw a suit on and you're done.
But, I have major problems dressing casual every Friday because everything I own is either a suit or totally non-conservative clothes for home/going out. Business casual means I have to go out and buy new clothes and actually match entire outfits - I don't have the patience for that! With 10 suits, I'm ready!

I would love an on-site gym. I'm so tired when I get home from work that it's really hard for me to drag myself to the gym. It'd be nice to work out right after work and then go home.
