The owner of Lotus (justin) is one of Studio 27 main photographers. Just so you know. We booked with studio and justin in our photographer for our wedding. He's absolutely amazing!
Good to know!! I haven't met with Justin yet but just from our phone conversation and his pricing I am most likely booking him as well.
Thank you for that information so I'm guessing he is cheaper than studio 27?
This may sound like a personal/ odd question but what are you guys telling the photographers why your budget is? I obviously would like not to spend a fortune but also want great photos? I don't know how to decide on a budget!

What Photographer is best?
Yea Lotus starts at $1500 and I want to say Studio starts at $1800 I believe? And I didn't give them any specifics about my budget. I had an idea of what I wanted to spend and only gave them what I was looking for- 1 photographer , no album etc. Whenever any vendor beats around the bush about pricing it turns me off personally. If it's not in my budget its a waste of both of our time. I would figure out what your must haves are and get some quotes. You will start to see what the average price is and what you can afford to add on.

I initially said a budget of $3500. I have no idea where I came up with that number lol. But we wanted a lot of stuff in our package. We wanted two photographers, album, parent albums, engagement session. We ended up paying 4K for 2 photogs for 11 hours, lighting assistant, engagement session, 10x10 designer album, 2 8x8 designer parent albums (can be clones of ours or completely their own design which was important to me), and as many thank you cards as we need.
We met with photographers who were cheaper and ones who were a lot more expensive. You have to feel comfortable with both the price and how your photos will turn out. We booked separately with someone more reasonably priced for video.

Re: What Photographer is best?
Everybody will think their photographer is the best - and for each individual it may be, but you would have to meet with them personally and see how you connect with them. There have been a few vendors on here that are RAVED about and I'm sure do amazing work - but after meeting with them I would never hire them. We met with Lighthouse, Silverfox and Capture the Moment and all were great and reasonably priced. Good luck!

Re: What Photographer is best?
I didnt tell Lotus exactly what my top price was. When we sat with Justin he just put together a package of exactly what we were looking for, and it was maybe $500.00 more then what we were looking to spend. And at that point what is $500 more. We didnt put albums in our contract but we were told that we were locked in for the pricing of when we booked even if they were to go up, which we both really liked.Welcome New Vendors
