We had a hard time cause of the amount of people we are having.

We looked at two in New Jersey:
Venetian
Some Italian Place

Then on Long Island:
North Ritz (loved)
Fox Hollow (great experience, but we couldnt' fit in the room)
Crest Hollow (good deal)
Leonards
Floral Terrace (boo-yahh! we loved it)

I had already been to a bunch of places last year while I was going to shows with my cousin before I was engaged so I knew I didn't want to visit them again. So then I went to...

Watermill
Windows on the Lake
Beach Club Estate
Riveira of Massapequa
Smithtown Landing C.C.
Land's End

And of course, Stonebridge!!!

We looked at only one other - East Wind Caterers...we weren't planning on looking at Westbury Manor that same day...we ended up in that area and stopped in...before we knew we were signing a contract with them...

In NYC, in order of what we visited:

1) Bridewaters
2) Tribeca Rooftop
3) Rainbow Room
4) Gotham Hall
5) Capitale

We went with Capitale - the price was right and it's a beautiful venue!

God...I looked at so many. Woodbury Country Club and Crest Hollow were out since I had been to proms there:

1) Giorgios - LOVED, perfect so we booked
2) Sandcastles - loved, but hated surrounding area
3) Chateau Briand - loved, but hated Old country Rd. right there
4) Westbury Manor - not my style and didn't do ceremonies there on Sunday
5) Watermill - didn't do ceremonies there on Sunday
6) Swan Club - felt it was too small to fit my wedding
7) Crescent - loved but too much $$$
8) Flowerfields - loved but too much $$$
9) Millerage - got to the parking lot and I wouldn't go in, not my style
10) Fox Hollow - liked, but decore a little too dark for my taste
11) Eastwinds - great pricing, but hated the room in the main building
12) Vineyard Caterers - loved, but thought it would be small for my wedding size
13) Coral House - not my style
14) Jericho Terrace - very pretty, thought too much was going on for a small area and the room looked small for my wedding size
15) Roslyn Claremont - too small for wedding my size

we didn't look at any out here, so this will only help upstate girls
but...
Bear Mountain Inn
Mohonk Mountain House
Troutbeck
West Point Officers' Club

and we decided on the thayer hotel ...love it!!!

Just curious how expensive Mohonk was. We've been going there for years, but its too far for us for a wedding. Are they very expensive?

We did a lot of research online & basically narrowed it down to:

Riviera
John Anthonys
Chateau La Mer

We looked at: (in order)

Russo's
Glen Island Harbour Club
Fox Hollow
Crest Hollow
Sandcastle
North Ritz Club
(I don't know if I'm forgetting any?)

...and then we considered some halls we had been to already for weddings.
