Re: what % says 'no'?
we invited 200 and got 130. Pretty bad turn-out for us but we invited many people from out of state that didn't want to travel to a friday night wedding.
edited to say: worked out better for me anyway - less people to see me in my potato sack!!!!

Re: what % says 'no'?
Our rsvp date is July 18th. We invited 170 with our hall having a max of 150. We want at max 135. So far we have 92 attending and 26 can't attend. Our minimum is 125 and I'm getting nervous that we may not make it. This is pretty funny because I initially freaked out that we had over invited. I think a lot of it has to do with the time of year and out of town guests still figuring out travel plans.
What I have found really interesting is the number of people we invited with the option to bring a guest, who aren't bringing a guest. That really effected our numbers.

Re: what % says 'no'?
I would say the average is 20%, but that's also dependent on what night your wedding is and how many OOT guests are invited. Right now we're inviting 230 people with a 175 guarantee to the hall. FMIL's guest list is almost twice the size of my families, but she INSISTS that alot of people on her list won't come. She better be right because my parents aren't going to pay for more than 200 guests. I'm actually hoping the number is more like 180 or so.

I have the opposite problem... we guaranteed 200, invited 204, I'm probably going to end up with about 150.
Anybody wanna come to my wedding?

Re: what % says 'no'?
I was just talking about this last night with my FH. Our min. is 225. We invited 406...mostly all local. I really hope that the 20% rule works! So far we have 81 yes's and 5 no's.

Re: what % says 'no'?
I think it just depends, I sent out 125 invites (200 guest) to the wedding. I have gotten about 60% yes and the remaineder no. The majority of the no were family from out of town and people that had alreaady planned summer vacations. If we would have planned for a different time of year we problably would have gotten more people to come. If almot everyone lives in the area I would expect most would be yes. My soon to be sister -in-law got married at the end of une and had about 95% yes.

Re: what % says 'no'?
I usually hear that 10% do not attend. I just mailed my invites today and I have to guarantee 200 people. I invited 285. I hope that we get back some no's. I am really worried that we have too many people. I am worried about the money as well as the room being to small. They say it holds 275 . After reading all these messages it makes me feel better that I am not alone in this situation. I love this website
