Massapequa I believe. One of my BMs taught for a few years in Amityville and had horror stories.....so much so that she quit and transferred districts.

most people who live in amityville don't send their kids to those schools, they mostly all go to private schools

I live in Massapequa and have Plainedge schools wich are very good, its probably 1/4 smaller than Massapequa and they have redone the middle school already, and plan on redoing the other schools as well.

Definately stay away from Amityville, its not a great school district or area

I work in Amityville and lets say if my car wasn't in a fenced lot I wouldn't walk there alone at night.

Down by the wanter is beautiful but not where I would send my kids to school.

MASSAPEQUA hands down. If you are considering living in Amityville, plan on private school. It is a beautiful place especially south Amity, but the schools are not rated well. I would say the majority of the people no matter what backround send their children to private school.
