I invited a few coworkers to the wedding. On their response card I put that 2 seats are reserved for each party. Anyway, one of my coworkers is coming with her daughter. However, she has a son and also wants him to come. Why, I have no clue. But anyway, she asks my other coworker who is not coming with a guest to take her son as a guest so that he can also attend. I know that her card was given for 2 but what the hell is that? To make matters worst, I am not even crazy about her son, as he is so rude and not a pleasant guy. So, I spoke to her today and she tells me that why shouldn't she able to bring him because, since my other coworker doesn't have a guest she should be able to bring him as her guest. Hello, whose wedding is it? I need to find a way to get him not to come but I just don't know how to go about it. Please Help.

hate to say this, but that whole 'shes not bringing a guest so can i bring someone else' is something i would try to do you gave out 4 tickets for lack of a better word... who's to say they cant combine em and use all 4? so, sry to say, but i disagree, i dont think its horrible what she is trying to do...
TICKETS?!?!?!?!...what is this opening season?!?!? I understand you said for lack of a better word...but you can not compare a wedding to a event where you have to buy tickets!
I'm sorry for butting in here but it's just plan out wrong!
I chose the word tickets because thats essentially what they have become... its not an 'honor'anymore to be invited to a wedding (it becomes an expense as a guest esp when friends start having weddings left and right)... its basically an event where its normally expected that the guests should pay for their plate AT LEAST... so in that sense, it is a ticket.... everytime ive heard someone talk about going to a wedding, they say they want to cover the cost of the plate and THEN give a lil extra on top AS A GIFT...
Just trying to clarify where the word 'ticket' came from

I understand....I just don't get why people would start inviting other people that the bride & groom did not have intentions of inviting!

Wow that is really rude...some people just really amaze me. Tell her its Adult only OR tell her its really not fair to other guests...you only reserved 2 seats for people not 3 regardless of whose is empty

Well, basically by giving someone an 'and guest' invitation, you are taking your chances... They could bring whoever they want...even someone you may not even like... I dont feel you can take it back... but thats me personally... thats the risk you run by doing it that way... I am only doing 'and guest' if they will absolutely not know anyone else there... not sure how that looks but it should save SOME headaches...

Uck! That is sticky, maybe you can tell her very politely that you have a very big family, and unfortunately if you get any no's you are going to offer those seats to your distant cousins... or something along those lines. And it is EXTREMELY rude for her to question you about your guestlist!
Love it!!!! Great idea. People are so rude!

Re: What Should I DO?
I can't be that nice. I feel, she should give me a check for three people. I can be just as rude. The only other thing to do is to say no only one guest, if you don't like it then don't come. I'm sorry, but with all the stress and bill we have to pay. I wouldn't let her off that easy. That's three people I don't have to see and one less person I have to talk to at work.
