I am invited to go to my girlfriends new babies Bris today. It is held at the firehouse in Great Neck. What the heck should me and FH wear??? I have no idea if this is a jacket and tie event or a khakies and polo event?
there was no formal invite, but I assumed that was because these things are planned on such short notice.... can't plan it till baby arrives.

Is the firehouse a restaurant or an actual firehouse??? I would say go with daytime dressy, i.e., skirt and sweater set or something like that. FH can probably wear khakies without a problem. Most people I know hold a bris in their home, so it's always been somewhat dressy casual.

The firehouse is an actual firehouse, but many firehouses these days have some nice catering halls to hold things like this.
I think she would have had it in her home, but they live in a small apartment.... we wouldn't fit.

I would wear the same type of clothes you would to a christening. I think khakies are fine with your FH and a dress shirt or a polo shirt. A jacket and tie is not necessary.
