My mom gave me some scrapping things for Christmas and i am just about to start using them...the pages are 12 x 12 - is this standard?

Most scrapbooks are 12x12. I currently have 2 that are 8.5 x 11 which i find more difficult to layout then 12x12.

Some people work in 8.5 x 11 format, but more and more you tend to see the 12 x 12 formats - more room for photos, embellishments, etc. You'll find both size papers available, but the stores that are exclusively scrapbooking seem to have just the larger 12 x 12 squares. Michael's or A.C. Moore carry the smaller size too.
