This was such a good post, I already started creating a do not play list off of your choices...Thanks....for me I second no line/limbo dances, but I do like the electric slide, no JLO, no meatloaf, no cheesy club, or house music that you hear on those Mix CD's.

We are having a band - so hopefully it won't be as much of a problem as a DJ

Well. I did not quite say that...I have a few MUST PLAY songs from those genres, but it won't be ALL that kinda music. I have older relatives who wanna hear doowop, some younger guests into alternative rock, MOH and I love freestyle...I have a couple R&B songs I wanna hear...It will be a mix but there ARE those few must plays from each catagory that I will be UPSET if I don't hear.

How come people dont like conga or line dances? Or the dolla song or hot hot hot or the Chicken Dance or Hands up?

Those are your typical wedding songs and usually people want to hear those.

Just curious......I like some of them , I dont' like some of them but to me it's all about what the guests want to hear (unless it's Britney. I draw the line there. And Danny Boy. )

Call me wierd but I don't think I am going to ban anything.
We want all our friends who have never been to a full blown NY wedding to get the full effect so we will have whatever gets people out of their chairs and dancing.
Now there may be a few songs I can't stand to listen to that I will come up with but as of right now anything goes.
