What the @$%*#&$^%#(@#&^% Is Wrong With People

I have sooooo had it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is this guy at pool (not on my team) that has been talking non-stop about being invited to the wedding. I had NO intention of inviting him - in fact at the beginning FH & I were including TWO people from pool and one was the best man!!!

So, FH has been on me about inviting him b/c he feels bad, and I keep saying no. I finally decided to consider it, but I truly didn't want to invite him. FH hasn't given up, so after two months of listening to FH I agreed to invite him on the condition we not say anything, he not be invited with a guest (nobody is), and that I get to send out the invite a week after the rest of the invites go out to make a point. I also recruited someone to make it obvious that the invites are out and he didn't get one, just to take the joke one step further. (my invites are not in the mail yet)

So, today I had a really really really bad day. I was in no mood for any sh!t from anyone. I'm in the middle of my match and this guy says to me - I found a date for your wedding! So I look at him, and I say - that first assumes you're invited, which you're not, and second assumes that if you were invited you would be invited with a guest, which you're not. He thinks I'm kidding!!! Tonight is the first night since I agreed to invite him that I have seen him, so it's not like this is news - I have been saying all along, Doug, you're not invited! What the @$%&$^%#(@#&^% is wrong with people I told FH - that's it, I'm taking him off the list. I don't care how much FH thinks it's a good idea, or wants to invite him - I've freakin' had it with him inviting himself and now a guest to boot!!!!

Is this guy lonely or something? Sounds like going to your wedding might be the high point of his life right now.

Can you threaten to kick him off the team if he comes?

Btw, I think it's totally cool that you're a pool player. I used to play and was one of the only women in our league. And the men always underestimated me. And would get mighty pissed when I kicked their azzes.

Darlene don't let this idiot upset you. If he has the b@lls to think he'd be invited in the first place, then he'll have to draw strength from those same b@lls to comfort himself when he figures out he's NOT invited...and neither is his guest.

Darlene.... It's amazing how ballsy people are! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this with your wedding right around the corner, but I KNOW what your going through!!!!!

I had someone at work tell me they can't wait until my wedding! Well.. They're NOT even invited!!!! And I keep having the same two people ask me 'What date is it again?? So I know I'm off!!!!!!' I hate how Nervey people are!!!!!!

The best part about all of this - or maybe the worst part - is that over the last several months, each and every time he has mentioned the wedding I have either said 'what makes you think you're invited' OR 'Umm, Doug, sorry, but you're not invited'.

There was one night that the best man was making jokes about some quarters the guy had, and Doug said he needed to save them so he could give us a gift at the wedding - I looked him straight in the eye and said 'you're not invited'.

I have NEVER once given him any reason to think he is invited to the wedding.

Some people just don't get it. Take comfort in the fact that you are not alone

We had a similar situation but from my sister's friend in VA. There is no way she could even get off work, find a babysitter, fly to NYC (or drive her car) and even find our hall but she kept insisting on being invited She went as far as to ask DH (FH at the time) to write her name down when we ran into her in the mall in VA and I told her that she would NOT be invited. She laughed it off and told HIM to write her name down so we would be sure to send her invite He has just laid eyes on her for the first time that day

And she went as far as to ask for an invite in our guestbook (wedding website).

Needless to say, she was not invited. And this woman is NOT my friend at all and did not invite me to her wedding
