what time....

is your ceremony. i don't know what to have because i think if i have it in the morning i will have everyone rushing to get ready and i need to get my hair and make-up done. but i would like to save money with an afternoon reception, plus i want my wedding on a sunday and i dont want people worried about work the next day. what do you think is better?

Re: what time....

Well, where will you be getting married? At the reception site? I mean, I don't know what the normal starting time for a Sunday wedding is, but say it's like 3pm, you can do the ceremony at the reception site at like 230 and you get the whole morning and part of the afternoon to get ready. I don't know if that helps at all! Sorry!

I cannot please everyone...FMIL ws trying to make comments and I had to override to tell her that FH and I prefer an evening wedding....Fri is out b/c of the jewish Religion, Sat costs a ridiculous amount of money, so Sunday it is! It did seemd to quiet her down

Re: what time....

If I am reading this correctly, you are planning your ceremony for Sunday morning with a sunday afternoon reception? I think it's fine. Yes you and the bridal party will have to be up a bit early to get ready but in all honesty it sounds worse then it is. The day is so exciting for you and everyone close to you that it shouldnt be a big deal at all.

The only thing I am not sure of (nor do I know if it's applicable) is whether or not ceremonies can take place in a christian/catholic church on Sunday's b/c of the regular mass schedule.

Maybe to add a little to what Holly said, too, people will just leave early if they think it's getting late. No worries. You probably won't even notice they are gone! All the important people always stay, ALWAYS. They find a way to make it ok. I mean, the wayI look at it, it's ONE day that you will be tired for after. People will deal.

Re: what time....

If you want your wedding on a Sunday you might want to do like I did and have it on a holiday weekend; this way you can have it in the afternoon and most people don't have to worry about getting up for work the next day. My wedding is on a Sunday at 3:30 on Columbus Day weekend.

my ceremony is at 11:30 am on a Sunday, and the reception ends at 5:00. We are doing most of our pictures beforehand, but I think it will be ok.

Re: what time....

Um, DUH! Mine is on a Sunday too. It's the Sunday before the Fourth of July in 2005. We couldn't afford a Sat. night wedding at our hall, so we picked a date a year later that would allow for us to do the Sunday night. (We're both teahers and needed to do a summer wedding.) Sorry, brain dead tonight!
Yet another thing, though....I'm sure you will be up at the butt crack of dawn anyway on your wedding day, so why not get it moving in the morning right away? Whatever you choose, it will be great!

Re: what time....

My ceremony @ Eastwind starts at 11:30
Cocktail from 12-1
Reception from 1-5

I'm using JN for makeup and she's arriving at my house at 7:30 am.
So i guess you will be getting ready early, but get what you want to do. What makes you happy.

Re: what time....

My ceremony at the church began at 11:00, cocktail hour was at 12:30.

Don't want to assume anything, but if you're planning on getting married in a church on Sunday you can't begin until after 3:00.

I had a sunday morning wedding and it was pretty cool getting up. I couldn't sleep and I woke up about 4 hours early. If I could do it again I would do a morning wedding b/c I don't know what I would of done with myself waiting for the afternoon to come.
