What to do about Mr. & Mrs. Hisfirst Hislast checks?

We've gotten a few checks like this already - Mr. and Mrs. Hisfirst Hislast. It's annoying as all hell because I can't cash them. The bank even gave HIM s**t about it. BUt Mrs. Hisfirst Hislast DOESN'T EXIST and WILL NOT EXIST after the wedding, as I am hypenating. We got the checks deposited still, but how are you guys dealing with this?
And for newlyweds - do you just sign Mrs. Hisfirst Hislast?

I've been mixing them in with other checks that just have my name on them. And, the people at my bank know me very well. So, they only noticed one time and let it slide...
If only they knew that I've done this 7 times already...

If it is just made out to Mr & Mrs Hislast name with out a first name could you maybe have his parents cash them for you so it wont be such a huge headache???

Almost all of our checks were made out to Mr. & Mrs. HisFirst HisLast. He doesn't have a bank account....so, he signed them...then I signed them, and put my account number on them. The bank deposited them with no problems.

Before I got married, I went into the bank and asked them what to do with the checks that I got for my wedding that were probably going to be made out to Mr. and Mrs. hislastname. Well they gave me this whole story how I need to come in with my marriage license and everything.
I never did any of that. I signed the checks with my maiden name and my DH signed his name. My dad deposited all the checks into our joint account while we were away on our honeymoon and there was no problem at all. I did not even write the account number on the checks.
Sometimes it is best not to even say anything to the teller.

THis happened to me. In fact, two people wrote their checks out to Mr. and Mrs. FH's first name and middle name. They didn't even put the last. Our bank told us to just sign it exactly as the check was written. I must have signed these checks 5 different ways and none of them are my real (hyphenated) name! No big deal. Just sign as the check is written. Hope that helps!

We had *a lot* of those. Pretty much all our accounts are joint now, though, so even though I had endorsed them all with my name, it wasn't a problem depositing them.
In large part for this reason, we had 'calling cards' made up to include in our thank yous. They feature our (different) names quite prominently...
