What to do about the wedding blahs??

Lately, I've been alittle down about all the wedding stuff, even FH has noticed..

I guess I just feel like the next year will take forever..I've already planned out the major things, and now I have to sit and wait..
I talked to two of my friends about it, and they were both like this year will go so fast, but how do you get through the day to day stuff. I thought I'd be moving soon, so I figured that would get me through but now it looks like we won't be able to move until the fall.

How did you all handle the wedding blahs?

I don't know but if you find out can you tell me I have been so depressed lately with everything wedding, job, etc. I hope I snap out of it soon

I wish I could tell you something to make you feel better.
When we first got engaged, we threw around dates and everyone just said that it was too long and I was going to have a whole lot of down time. Which I am experiencing and sounds like you are too.

Just do the little things...Menu, Programs, read wedding magazines. You're still planning a wedding. Write love letters to your FH about how excited you are. Post here like crazy!!!

Stuff like that. There are a bunch of little things that need to get done and count yourself lucky to have so much time to really not have to settle.

I just got married 7 weeks ago, and I had a 2 year engagement- it will go fast. Let me tell u with a lot of the planning done, u will be happy u did it wehn u did. Just think u can sit back and relax. The last few weeks before the wedding goes by so fast- and u are running around like a crazy woman. It is hard, I had them too, try to focus on you and FH, go out on a date, try to keep busy. It will pass, and the wedding will be here before you know it. Hope this helps!

I also am having a two year engagement and though people told me it'll fly, I have to admit that at least the past year did not - so I don't expect this year to.

The way I deal with it, is I do a little at a time. I know I don't have to rush, so I am constantly being busy doing a little something, all one at a time so it can spread out for longer. Another thing I've done effectively, is concentrate on all my friends' weddings. A lot of my friends are getting married this year, so I helped them plan, through a shower, batchelorette and that kind of stuff - so I am still planning, just not for me.

Another thing that helps me, is remembering a wedding is one night but the marriage is forever. So I try to think/plan my married life, how I would picture it.

Also, the Honeymoon!
I try to think about what I will do there, where will we go, what we will eat and all that!

I am sure you can tell I have been battling with same issues

Pookiesangel - I say relax and enjoy this time right now....thats what I am doing.

You need to take your mind off wedding stuff for a little while. I changed my date from 4/30/05 to what it is now and let me tell you, as much as people told me the 2 years would fly... right now... Oct 9 could not get here fast enough, I am SO ready to just be married and have this whole thing over with that it doesn't matter that I still have TONS of stuff left to do. When I have the wedding blahs (they come and go, definitely) I take on a project totally unrelated to wedding planning that will keep me busy for a couple of weeks... then I get re-energized and I'm happy to jump back into my wedding planning. I'll pick up a short side job, work on a scrapbook that's been indefinitely shoved aside, play golf, surf the net (yes! there NWR stuff on the internet!) , etc.

But I've noticed that you've been on here quite a bit lately and that you are doing pretty much everything very early... you are bound to get the wedding blahs at that pace... relax for a little while and enjoy the fact that you have the luxury of time to take a little break from wedding planning!

Let me tell u when the planning was over, I was so relieved. Just try to focus on other things. I am gald we put off our HM until July, this way all the stress and being so tired will be gone and we can enjoy our honeymoon. I had posted on the Newlywed side that I am so glad that the planning was over. This was right after our wedding in March. Try to do other things besides planning, it is one day, you have your whole life with your soon to be husband.
