My wedding is coming up in 5 weeks. we are getting married at Chateau Briand and our reception ends at 6 pm. I am so down in the dumps about having booked an afternoon wedding, but what can I do about it now, right? So, I'm turning to you hoping you wonderful ladies might have some suggestions about what i can do after my reception. I just don't want to end the day, and what am I supposed to do at that time? lol Please help if you have any suggestions. Thanks a ton!

Don't be down in the dumps at all! I had an afternoon wedding on Halloween and it was during the playoffs so afterward everyone came over and watched the Yankee game. We ordered a ton of pizzas, had lots of beer and just hung out! It was a lot of fun and it was so nice that everyone was talking about how much fun they had at the wedding. There are tons of things you could do - especially in the summer! Have a bbq, go bowling, go to the city etc...don't feel bad! The fun DEFINITELY won't end after the wedding is over!

Have an afterparty!!! It will make your wedding seem EVEN longer! Our reception is ending at 6. We booked a conference room at the hotel we blocked rooms at (La Quinta) from 7-12. We're getting food catered and having a roll in cash bar.

Why not consider having an after party at your house, etc...Thats what we plan on doing. Our reception ends @ 10:30pm and we are throwing an after party for the bridal party and close friends @ FH Sister's house.

I thought about renting a room, but I guess i thought about it for too long because now the room at la quinta is booked -- boo! so, i'm back at square one. we have a small apartment and can't do something at home. i guess i just have to keep thinking. thanks for the feedback ladies.
