What to do? Reception drinks help!

Thanks for all the advice ladies. I know exactly what you mean when you say it might seem tacky and guests might be irritated after traveling so far and paying so much and THEN they have to pay for drinks.

I'm going to talk to my parents, and FH's and his parents to let them know the situation. My parents want to make the wedding as wonderful as possible (with out any p-ed off guests!) so I hope we can work something out. You've all given me great suggestions - and the idea with the 'this one's on us' cards is a good one too - so hopefully we can come to some sort of conclusion/compromise!
