what to do, what to do (re wedding ring is too small)

what to do, what to do (re wedding ring is too small)

all this talk of wedding rings got me thinking ...

FH and I are Jewish - which means we need to get a plain gold ring (no design, no diamonds) for me for the ceremony (after the ceremony, i can switch to my 'real' wedding ring)

anyway, we were going to use FH's great grandmother's ring but i don't think it's going to fit on my finger. and i can't get it resized

do i just use it anyway even though it won't fit over my knuckle? do i incorporate it some other way? other ideas?

Thanks

I thought you didn't put the ring on completely in a jewish ceremony (FH is jewish, I am not)- thats what his sister did at her ceremony. Maybe I am confusing the traditions?

can you borrow someone else's ring for the ceremony just to have it for the ceremony? as a symbolic thing?

As long as it fits on the top part of your right pointer finger, you're fine...that's where he's going to put the ring during the ceremony.

I was married before and I just borrowed my MOH's grandmothers ring for the ceremony. I gave it back after we walked into the hall. It was my borrowed.

Is it really important who that ring belongs to?

we're using FH's great grandmother's ring because it means a lot to him and his family ...
