Any almost married, or already married ladies out there know what they are going to do with their wedding dress once the big day is over? I'm so torn about the entire thing. I'm at the point were I am willing to wear it around the house vacuuming because the thought of never wearing it again saddens me. It's not the type of dress that could be shorten and dyed (besides the cost, pretty sure it wouldn't work with the beading.) I was thinking if I can't sell it, to donate it, but my heart aches.

I saw one of the brides on here make hers into a cocktail dress, it looked absolutely gorgeous! That's what I am thinking of doing.

I was thinking about getting it preserved, but I'm not sure.
I wanted to shorten it, but I really don't know if it's the right style for that, and if I did that I'm not sure when I'd be able to wear a dress that fancy anywhere, lol, can't wear white to a wedding.

This may be old fashioned, but I know of some people who preserved their dresses and then made specialty outfits for their son/daughter out of them. They've made baptism outfits, holiday outfits...etc.

I guess I've become sentimental (because I never thought I would want this), because I want to preserve it and give it to my (future) daughter as an option to wear it/change it when she gets married. Hopefully, it will still be somewhat in style! :D
Halloween costume? Bride of Frankenstein, Bridezilla (haha), etc. At least you would get one more wear out of it.

I am torn too. I kind of want to preserve it, but I also would love to shorten it and make a cocktail dress. I love the lace on my dress and would love to do something with it.

I'm planning to preserve it. My mother preserved her dress and while it is VERY 80's, she's planning to take it out of the box and turn it into a christening gown when it's grandbaby time =)
