What to get as an engagement present?
I am not a bride-to-be, but a few of my friends are getting married and I would like to get them an inexpensive but thoughtful engagement present. All three friends are not having engagement parties, but I wanted to do something anyway. Two of the friends still live at home with their parents and will not being moving out till after the wedding. The other friend just bought a house with her fiance. I thought of getting them something for the house, but they are into country-like themes, and I am not quite sure what would look good at their house.
I want to spend maybe $30-$50 and doing something personal....any ideas?

Re: What to get as an engagement present?
Thanks soooo much! I just ordered a year's subscription for 2 out of the 3 recently engaged friends! The price is not bad at all....$12.00 for a years subscription (6 issues).
I am still stuck on the other friend....she was engaged quite some time ago....and is getting married this summer. I still wanted to send her something little. (She is the one who is into country-like stuff.) Any more ideas....???

Re: What to get as an engagement present?
i cant help on the country stuff but how about since she is coming to the end of her planning maybe a subscription to a home/life magazine...or a baby magazine if they plan on TTC next.....Or the only thing i could say is pull up her registry and get one of the items that was not purchased yet! i know that normally you never receive EVERYTHING you register for and obvisouly you know they wanted those items...i am just hoping they are registered already
glad i was help to you on the magazine subscriptions BELIEVE me we all get addicted to them!

Re: What to get as an engagement present?
www.magazinecity.net is SUPER CHEAP for ordering magazine subscriptions. I got my FI Maxim for like $12 bucks for a year!Personally, I feel that if your friends are paying for their own wedding, give them $$$$$, cause that is what they will need most. Write them a check. I know FI and I are paying for our own wedding, we need $$$, and I would rather have cash than a toaster. JMO.
If your friends don't really need money or you don't feel comfortable giving them cash, then I think a g.c to go out to dinner at a nice restaraunt is good, or for both of them to go get a massage at a spa....
