So my mom's boss's daughter is having her sweet sixteen at Larkfield Manor and invite me and FH, this is the 1st sweet sixteen I been after I moved to the United States so I really dont know what I am suppose to give her... I know the girl because we are close to her family and her (when I just moved I used to babysit her and her siblings) so girls please tell me what to give or how much (if money is appropriate),

Re: what to give to a sweet sixteener...
I would say money... I remember waiting anxiously dreaming of all the money I would make from my Sweet Sixteen. That was nine years ago and I had mine at a much smaller place so I'm not really sure how much would be appropriate for now. Many around $150 if you can swing it.

Money is absolutely appropriate...I cant remember how much we gave people but I think it was like 25-50 range.

I think $50 was a HUGE gift at my Sweet 16, most people gave $25 if they gave cash.
Most of my gifts were jewelry or gift certificates to the mall.

I had my sweet sixteen at a Knights of Columbus... I was thinking Larkfield would be considerably more per person... now i'm second guessing my original $150... $100 maybe? I dont know... FH and I are always that couple who ask others what they're giving to come up with what we should give! (Is that bad?)

oooohhh... I just thought... why not be those old people who wait until the end to fill out the check... based on how fancy/great it was you can decide what works.

ok... good because if not FH was going to have a heart attack.. the funny part (well not that funny) is that the sweet sixteen is the same day as FH b-day but I couldnt say no to go... so we are only going to go for a little bit
