What traditions are you using in your wedding?

What traditions are you using in your wedding?

My FH and I are debating a lot of traditions right now.

He wants the bk toss, but I'm afraid with only a couple of single women it will seem silly.

He wants the garter toss and I HATE IT!! (If he insists on it I'm going to hide a manequin leg under my dress for him to find!)

I wanted to revive some old/unusual traditions . . . a German colleque of mine told me that in Germany the wedding couple has to saw through a log together with a two handled saw -- its their first act together and they have to work together to get through it.

Not doing the bouquet toss - nor the garter.

I would love to do the anniversary dance, but my grandparents (married 60+ years) aren't able to travel to my wedding, so I'm not so sure if I'll do it now.

I'm thinking of giving a short speech and presenting my bouquet to my godmother at the reception. She's very special to me.

I think the German log cutting tradition is great - though we have no room for it - and it will be December when we get married, so I dont think we'll be outside for long.

We are doing the Hora, a jig, anniversary dance.

At the ceremony- Irish Blessing, Blessing of the Hands, Wine Ceremony/breaking of the glass.

No bo-kay or garter toss. I'm the last one of my friends and family to get married (I'm 34) so who would I throw it to my Golden Retreiver, she's the last single girl left that I know

I don't like the garter toss - so we're doing the ANniversary Dance - which I never knew about until I came here to LIW

none of the above.

At the end of the night, I'll grab my brother's fiancee and toss my boquet to her privately.

Instead of a bo-k toss - I'm surprising my youngest sister, who is eloping on 9/5 (2 weeks before my wedding!) with a mushy speech, bo-k presentation and a wedding dance for her and her new husband.

Not sure about the garter toss. I love the anniversary dance and will most likely do it.
