What type of contraception do you/will you use?

Feel free to add experience (pros and cons with these) or others not listed.....recently getting back on the pill so I was just wondering...

Just be careful--I bled for 4 months straight on Yasmin. My GYN kept telling me that my body would adjust. It never did and I became very anemic. I am now on something else--I forget the name. I'm not bleeding anymore but still take iron pills.

The things women have to go thru!

i got prego on birth control ....and I swear i didn't miss any pills....my sister and 2 cousins also got prego while on the pill....my doc thinks my family is strange

oh god, please dont tell me this, i am actually starting my pills this sunday! what brand were you on if you dont mind me asking.

I can't use any pills or anything. so we use the pull-out method.

I'm not trying to be mean, but you are running a HIGH risk of getting pregnant that way.

Have you thought about an IUD?

Were you on any kind of antibiotic while taking the pill b/c that will decrease the effect of birth control.

i was on alot of the pills I was on the patch and the nevo ring.
The patch i was on for awhile and then like 4 months later got a rash
The nevo ring keep on coming out when i used it when i had sex so it would be ring around the rose lol

It's not a myth. What happens is that your body is tricked into thinking you're preggo so that ovulation and fertilization won't occur (so even though we get our periods, they are not 'true' periods) since your body thinks it's preggo it craves stuff...food mostly! As long as you have a strong will power and can totally get over the tricks the mind plays with you, you should be fine. My SIL actually lost weight!

some people gain, some lose. i think it is about finding the right one for you and your body. Personally, I have had the least amount of weight gain since going on he Nuva Ring.

I used to take Ortho Tricyclen then I started to get out of control cranky around my period so they switched me to Ortho Tricycle Lo and it is fabulous!

Yes it is. I use it too and I love it! IT doesn;t make me nauseous like the pills did, although I get bad cramps with it. I will continue to use it until the wedding then go off it after the honeymoon.

Actually, due to age we are hoping for lots and lots and lots of baby dust... hey, maybe our guests can throw that instead of rose petals

I have been on Seasonale since last fall and love not getting a period every month. I used to take noth Ortho Tri Cyclenes but they gave me bad cramps.

I know someone who got pregnant while no Dep Provera AND condoms. Sometimes, when its meant to be, its meant to be.

A few people have FMed me to ask what type of pill I was on...so here is all the info that I can offer....

I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen....I was not on anything else at the time...not even Tylenol. I had been using this pill for over 5 yrs with no problems.

My sister was also on Ortho Tri Cyclen...again she wasn't taking anything else

My Cousin was Taking Tri Phasil...but she does admit to taking cough syrup when she got pregant.

We all love our babies and wouldn't change anything...true they were unplanned...but we look at them as miracles from GOD.

I do want to mention to all....and I don't know if this was a cause or just something that happened....but my sister and I both gave birth to preemies...My Dr. says that there is no proof one way or the other that indicates being on the pill in the beginnig of your pregnancy is what caused us to deliver early. How ever we both decided to never use the pill again...because if there is accidental pregnancy we don't want our babies to go through what our sons did in the NICU unit.
