Mine was 'Hi! I'm New!'

And this is what I wrote:

Hi! My name is Julie and I'm new to these boards. The wedding is 9/24/04! I am trying to plan my DREAM WEDDING on a BUDGET! The only things I booked is the hall and the dj - I need recommendations/suggestions for everything else please!!!

My first one was the basic introduction:

Hi there-
I just wanted to say hi, since this is my first time on these boards. I'm getting married on June 27th, 2004. So far, I have the place and the band, and we're currently looking for a photographer and videographer. Any suggestions? Preferably someone in Nassau County, b/c I live in Staten Island (my fiance is from Wantagh), and it's hard enough for me to travel back and forth to Nassau to get stuff done. So far, we've looked at JoVon and Visual Image, and next week we're meeting with Ira Rosen and Kornfeld studios. Does anyone have any info/opinions on any of them? Thanks for any suggestions!

Mine was asking if anyone ever had a friend ordained to marry them. Our friend did it for us, but then he moved to Isreal and can't do it now.

Originally, we were going to have our wedding on Long Island and since we live in Maine I was trying to find info on-line. I searched 'long island weddings' and this site came up! My first post was looking for a 'free or cheap' beach to get married on. Boy, how quickly I realized that things aren't free or cheap in NY!

'Does anyone have a phone number for Wild Rose? Thanks!'

Which kind of amuses me since I don't remember ever wanting to use them!

'I have booked my reception (you are going to think I might be a little crazy) without really seeing the place. I live in Orlando and we are getting married on Long Island. I booked it on the recommendation of my FML, FFL, my mother and aunt. I am looking to see if some of you guys have either been to weddings there or been there yourselves to see it. From everything I have heard and the pictures I have seen it appears to be just lovely. I think I really just need piece of mind.'

I booked both and was extremly happy.

8/24/03:

Anyone know what size Maggie Sottero samples are used at BR in Massapequa? Fell in love with Sarchi and the sample fit perfect except for the length. When I got home and found the dress on bridesave.com for almost $300 less, I was wishing I had paid more attention to the size!! Any ideas? I know I could go by the size chart but again, the mystery size I tried on fit perfect and some of you have been saying the size charts don't necessarily match the sizes you've tried or ordered. HELP! Need to save some $$$!!!

This was my first post...

My fiance and I are getting married and September and we are going to go to California for our honeymoon. Neither of us have been there and it's a place we both want to go. We are thinking of staying in Montauk the night before we leave for our Honeymoon to watch the sunrise on the east coast, fly to California that day and watch the sunset on the west coast.

I asked for a flower quote on Vendors Helping Brides.

That was my first real post where I originated it.

My first time replying to anyone was a post I replied to Rachel about overseas guests and when to sent out STD's and invitations.

This is a good one, OctG! I just searched for my first post and here it is (I do remember it SO WELL.... just Don't Laugh!)

Topic: Non-LI Girl Needs Help Planning her LI Wedding in 7 mos!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the boards but already love what I've read .. you guys are so helpful and supportive!

I'm not from LI -- we live in Westchester, but FH and family are from E. Northport and we're getting married in that general area. I really need HELP on how to plan a LI Wedding! We were engaged on Dec. 20 and are planning our wedding for July 25th 2004 (though that will depend on the church .. ).

Aside from the hall and church, what do you think are the things I should get moving on immediately after New Years? Luckily we are planning a rather small wedding (no more than 100 people), which is why I think we can do it ..

In all honesty - do you think this is impossible to accomplish? For a variety of reasons we want to get married next summer, but I don't want to kill ourselves with the stress of it all!

Thanks in advance!

Ahh....... how naive I was!

I did a search & I guess because I am one of the old farts on this board (been a member since January 2000!!) some of my posts are screwed up & mixed with other peoples posts or just have another persons message altogether! Kinda weird!! But this was MY first post I made! It was in regards to Eastwind Country Gardens, which is where we eventually booked !!
----Edited to say that under my name it says member since 2/2001, but I got engaged 12/99 & joined in 1/2000.....funny...

Posted February 10th, 2000!!!! OMG!!

We went to look @ the place of my dreams for a reception (he loved it too!!!), but as we were discussing prices, I was given Sunday evening prices for a 4th of July weekday wedding. Does this seem right, when on their pricing list they say off season pricing is available? I was not sure how to approach this at the time, but how WOULD I go about it now? Regardless, the prices are reasonable anyway, but I was just wondering the right way to approach this. Thanks for any input

subject: Okay, my first time posting, DJ's anyone...?

I know the best bet is to actually go listen to them, but I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good DJ; somebody that's entertaining and gets everybody on the dance floor...

In my first post ever on LIW, I asked for recommendations for hair and makeup people...and it was Swags1016 who responded first to my question.

I did a search and it looks like this was my first post from July 2002.

I am using Bellarino Video. I thought Phil was very good with his presentation, the prices were great and his work is wonderful. You should give him a call and go see his work for yourself.
