Just curious what others past was before they met their FH. I dated alot and had 2 long term relationships. I was also alone at times and didn't even bother to date (my choice).

I had 1 long term 'relationship' and dated through out college. I think it was good to see what was out there bc when I met Patrick I knew he was the one for me.

I was very young when I dated FH. He was my 'first'!! I dated guys, but it was more of a friendship thing with them...

FH and I have been dating since I was 15 - along the way we have dated a few others but not seriously so we consider each other our 1st loves

we've been dating since I was 15 too so i don't consider any of my relationships before him to be 'serious'... and he dated casually before me, but nothing serious either.
we are definitely each other's first (and only) loves!

If we start from H.S..... 1.) 6 months w/ L. 2.) 3 1/2 years w/ M. my 'first' (hs - college) 3.) 3 months w/ S. 4.) 8 months w/ A. 5.) 10 months w/ M. 6.) 5 months w/ T. 7.) then met FH..been together over 5 years now
And stayed single at many times in between...especially after my 'first' broke my heart...i always say I don't 'need' a man in my life, but I want one

I'm 33 now...and was 31 when I met fh. I had had 3 very serious relationships in my 20's, one of them broke my heart....the second I broke up with b/c after 2 years I loved him....but knew deep inside I didn't want to share the rest of my life with him. THe third serious relationship was perfect....so I thought. We were in love, talking of marraige, and then I had a family tragedy.
The way someone reacts under those circumstances reveals a lot.......after that I knew I couldnt' be with him b/c he wasn't reallygoing to 'be there' when rough spots in life hit.
After that, I did a lot of dating. I was MISERABLE WITH THE DATING. I became a cold beeatch b/c I never really knew what people were thinking....I ruined my life by reading that stupid book...The Rules. That book literally ruined my life for a few years. Meeting FH was a miracle. No games. No anxiety. He told me how he felt and treated me as such....right from the beginning. He'll be there for everything in life....the good, the bad.....everything. I feel really lucky. Its a miracle.

that was me! i dated someone all of high school then meet my FH my 2nd year of college

I have a had about 3-4 long term relationships throughout HS and college and a couple of little flings here and there. I needed to check out what was out there before finding the perfect guy

I had a five year relationship with someone before I met FH, from high school (I was 16) until my Junior year of college. The guy had absolutely no direction in his life, no job, and I was working my butt off and going to school. My academic and social life suffered because of it. I was done with it two years before it was over, and about three months after we broke up I started dating FH.
