What were/are your Reception Music Selections?

What were/are your Reception Music Selections?

Just wanted to get an idea of what you will (or did) play at your wedding. Aside from the 'chicken dance', 'makarena', 'dollar line', and all those other cheesy songs, what type of music do you plan on having played at your wedding?

For ethnic groups, what % do you plan on playing on different types of music?

I don't plan on playing those line dancing songs...We made a list, but its at home. Basically, we like all the classic disco songs, and any other good dance music.

We are going to have Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, type music palyed during dinner.

80s New Wave..... really!! FI insists on it. Also some Latin and Irish stuff. I am going to trust the DJ on this. I have about 50 'must plays' a few 'must NOT plays' and it's up to him from there. I think we need to trust our vendors, they are professionals and should be able to read the guests...

I definitely trust my vendor to play the up-to-date songs... I just don't know what to put on the playlist. I mean, I know what type of music I want, but am indecisive as to what type should receive more 'airplay' than others.
