What will you call your in-laws????

My FH and I were having a discussion about this. My parents each call their in-laws mom and dad. FH parents call their in-laws by their first names. We don't know what to do.

What are you ladies doing?

Personally I have a mom and dad and can't imagine calling anyone else that. Their first names are fine.

I feel the same way... I'm also using first names...

The day he asked me to marry him our moms and dads said call us mom and dad. Every time I attempt to call them mom and dad I sputter. It's just weird. I'm not getting along with FIL's right now so it is even more weird!

When I first met them it was Mr. and Mrs. over time it became first names, I'll probably keep with the first names, maybe gradually get into mom and dad slowly.

I do not feel comfy calling his mother MOM. I could call his father Dad but to tell you the truth, I never really call them anything. I think I will use their first names.

I think they would like me to call them mom and dad, but I don't think that I can. They always sign off their emails to my FH and I as 'Mom and Dad', but I generally call them V***-auntie and Dr. K-uncle. I'm sure something less 'bulky' will develop over time.

I just start conversation too lol... I don't know what to call them... I used to caqll the Mr & mrs... I think I will go with the first names.. I don't think I can call them Mom & dad... They aren't MY Mom & Dad so I can't see calling them that.

This has always been a hard one because my SIL and BIL always avoided calling my parents anything and now, after 5+ years, its been kind of awkward. So my FH decided that from the start, he would call my parents mom and dad and I would ask his parents if I can call them the say. It can sometimes really hurt feelings if you don't find out what each other wants out in the open. JMOT

Ive thought ALOT about this....
My mother and father will ALWAYS be my mom and dad...
As of RIGHT NOW...i dont really 'call' them anything...i just start talking!!! kinda weird...but i dont know what they want me to call them......they never said..!

We call each others parents by their first names and I don't think it will change after the wedding.

Well, it depends. Our situation is a bit weird, but I am closer to his mom and I call her Mrs B. and not close to his dad at all and I call him Eric. But then everyone calls his dad by his first name and I can't imagine calling his mom by her first name. It would weird me out. He calls my mom Mrs.

Right now I call them by their first names. After we have kids I will call them Grandma and Grandpa.

Neither one of us have fathers, but we both refer to each other's mothers by their first names. Knowing FH he will not call my mother 'mom' because he already has one. Although my BIL calls her that.
